(segue to a funny true story)
I was a a remote client's site, doing a quick demo our software. Ho hum click here, click there, all of a sudden, porn pop up, left and right!!! This a a lap top that no one uses personally, so it's just used for demonstrations ONLY!! Go thing that the 3 people i was demo-ing to was cool and I played the whole thing off. _________________

idk how u guys canNOT have av on ur comps, just this morning as soon as i open up my outlook a window pop-up (fron norton) saying that my email was infected and has caught a virus and cancelled it right away.. n the thing is, its from michi.. i know for a fact that i memorized her email, even if she doesnt email me, but goin back to the subject, how would u tell if there is none?
av's or not, i need it cuz im not a high-tech person, i dont wanna take the risk and act like i know everything is safe, even though i dont go to porn sites _________________

then again if im using a crappy comp and ready to die anytime soon, thats understandable |
Even still, if you're using a crappy comp, wouldn't you want it to last as long as it will? Unless if you're waiting for an excuse to buy a new one...
My computer costed me about $1,750.00 before rebates. No way am I going to let it get all f*cked up.
And if I didn't have antivirus and firewall, then I couldn't visit those porn/AV sites........

 |
|
Guys,
There seems to be a huge flood of e-mails floating around that contain the subject "E-mail account disabling warning". It's definitely not legit, and you should delete the e-mail without opening it.
Here are the symptoms... A virus scrapes a user's PC of domain names. It'll then plug the domain name into several places on a form letter, then sends the e-mail to an e-mail address containing the same domain name. For example, using JDorama.com as an example, you may see something like this:
Dear user of "JDorama.com" mailing system,
We warn you about some attacks on your e-mail account. Your computer may contain viruses, in order to keep your computer and e-mail account safe, please, follow the instructions.
Further details can be obtained from attached file.
The Management,
The JDorama.com team http://www.JDorama.com
So far, none of the antivirus companies have put out updates to their software to address this.
