hello mate
i've watched kekkon dekinai otoko and i like it so much that i start wanting for some dorama like that. any recommendation?

oh. i'm an anime fan btw. if you ever watch azumanga daioh and like it, can you recommend any jdorama as cute and funny as that?

i've watched a few other dorama like kisarazu, gto, gokusen, densha otoko and nodame. i like kisarazu, the others are so-so. i just list them here because i saw their names a few times in this thread.

hello, I also like kekkon dekinai so much and also trying to find that kind of drama. I heard that Haken no Hinkaku is the closest one and give it a try but this one is a bit illogical, the char is too weird...i give up for the first ep.
but there are many good review for this drama, so u maybe u wanna try it?

I second Chakushin Ari! I just finished it recently and it was a lot better than I thought it would be. I even wrote a review of it (clicky on my profile).

I'm wondering if anyone had some good recommendations for romance / light drama?

I'm looking for something along the lines of Nodame and Proposal Daisakusen (both which I really liked)...

I'm also watching Dragon Zakura (mostly because I liked the Yamapi and Nagasawa Masami combo) and Kekkon Dekinai Otoko (Abe rocks), but I usually have to be in the mood for these types.

Looking for things closer to the first two I mentioned, although nothing with a Bang Head type of ending or too dramatic (i.e. main character biting it at the end)

Though they're not a drama or a romance, I gotta shamelessly plug the movies Swing Girls and Summer Time Machine Blues... Two fun and really entertaining movies...

Can someone help me out here?

I watched Densha Otoko maybe a year ago,
And it was one of the greatest TV Shows I have ever seen in my life
I've been looking for other shows that are just as hilarious, but i found none of the same calibre
GTO was cool, a bit corny, but it had its funny parts

I am looking for something that is just as hilarious, I dont mind romance, but comedy is my priority... so please dont recommend a heavy romantic show with a bit of comedy...

I know exactly what you mean, Densha Otoko is also one of the greatest show I've ever seen! Although, I differ in that romance is a necessity in my dramas.

Well.. So far having watched 2.5 other dramas, I can only really reccomend My Boss My Hero because I really love it so far. I've only watched half of it because the other half still haven't come out with english subs. My Boss My Hero is a comedy with a bit of romance by the way.

I also reccomend Kekkon Dekinai Otoko, although, it is a bit weird, and I don't thinkg it was as funny as Densha Otoko or My Boss My Hero. Kekkon Dekinai Otoko is a romance-comedy.

If you like silly funny with romance, Nodame Cantabile is full of it. Some members of this forum love it, some hate it. As for me, I thought it was alright (not that great of a fan of silly/crazy funny). I gave it a rating of 6-7/10. If you're looking for Densha Otoko-funny, I don''t think you will find it in this drama (I'm saying all this because I assume you and I have simliar tastes in dramas).

I noticed that the summer dramas already aired and I'm wondering if there's anything worth watching. I don't really want to go by the summaries because sometimes the plot sounds great, but aren't executed well (Joudan ja nai, anyone?) Oh, and NO crappy fangirl/boy eyecandy dramas, PLEASE! Beaten <-- (your face if you suggest said dramas Bleah )

I never saw the movie version of Chakushin Ari so I guess this is one to be avoided, huh?

No, the movie version is quite good...any movie with Kou Shibasaki and Shin'ichi Tsutsumi can't be all bad!!

Well, I stopped watching Densha Otoko and GTO after just one episode each, so you might take my recommendations with a grain of salt, but here's a list of series that I consider hilarious:
Sweet Home, Ohsama no Resutoran (King's Restaurant), Shomuni (seasons 1 & 2), Salaryman Kintaro (seasons 1 & 2 plus the special which bridges the two seasons), Oyaji, Good Mourning (yes, that's the correct spelling), Sori to Yobanaide (Farewell Mr. Premier), Onsen e iko (Women of the Onsen, seasons 1 & 2), Kamisan Nanka Kowakunai (Mid-life Crisis).
Kekkon Dekinai Otoko, Renai Kekkon no Hosoku, and Otona no Otoko were funny romantic comedies where the comedic aspect was emphasized.
Odoru Daisousasen, Coach, and Mona Lisa no Hohoemi were series which effectively mixed comedy and drama.

Thanks everyone! I will look into each and every one of the dramas you guys recommended. Hopefully one or a few of them will be just as great an experience as densha or better!
Victory! Peace!
