This novel follows the general Monomyth pattern, but several twists and inversions of the pattern give them originality.

I am enjoying it alot. There was a 45 episode anime of the series in 2002 that I liked quite a bit. I am sure I am losing some in the translation to English, but the translation seems well done so far.

Monomyth, eh...I sense a Joseph Campbell fan...

Juuni Kokki is truly one of the best anime of all time...

I just finished Dear Mr. Henshaw by Beverly Cleary. I liked it, although I'm still wondering why our English professor chose that book for us to read. It's something that would usually be chosen as book reports for grade schoolers. But I really, really liked it though.

I read that too. The ending was kind of predictable tho.

I don't read much. I bought a few books a year or two ago and never had the chance to read them. In the past few weeks, I managed to read them. Read Dune's Buthlerian Jihad prequel trilogy and finished the 7th book of the original series Hunters of Dune. They're not as good as the first 3 books or the house trilogy, but still interesting. Scifi, politics, religion, ecology, bitching... You can't go wrong with bestsellers I guess. Smile Now, I have to wait till July 2008 to know how it ends. Sad

Now I back to reading The handbook of Japanese Grammar. =T

Shameful Cry Shameful Cry Shameful Cry
Having spend the last 2 years reading minimum 50 pages of case studies and technical notes each day for my master, I canLt bring myself up anymore to read books. The most intellectual I can read are Mangas and graphic novels. Shameful Cry Shameful Cry Shameful Cry
I used to looooooooove books and the Harry Potter franchise. Now I have to wait for the movies to be released Shameful Cry

I've taken a break from Comicbook reading to re-read all the HP books, since I'll be getting the final one in a few days. So right now I'm reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it tonight.

Let me just say that JKR left a whole slew of minutiae clues in HP6, if you're well versed in the book, you're going to get a lot of "ohhh! that's what that was all about" moments when you're reading 7.

if you're the type of reading who wants/likes to guess what's coming ahead then read 6 again before 7 comes out and look for strange sentences that really aren't needed, or that seem obvious.

if not, then forget the minutia and wait patiently for saturday.

Will it look weird if a 22 year old goes dressed as a Hogwarts student??? Beaten judging from last years reception I don't think I'd have anything to worry about :XD should I dress up or not hrrrrmmm
I just hope it's not thundering like this tomorrow kawaiioooooooooo *cries*

Don't worry, just google star trek / star wars conventions. It should make you feel more confident. Wink

I'm now on the third HP book, Prisoner of Azkaban. So many things I missed which I'm getting again after re-reading!

Hopefully I'll be done this one tomorrow. Too bad I won't be able to read number 7 right away. I still have three more to re-read. Pout
