I've had mine for a few days now but it's just sitting there while I re-read the others. I'm now on Order of the Pheonix.

I got this book from an ebayer today -

The Dorama Encyclopedia -
http://www.muramasaindustries.com/fact/doramaencyclopedia/doramaencyclopedia.html

It seems pretty good for reference. And, it mentions Jdorama, too!!!
(It gets listed under English-speaking website resources). Dancing

Yup.

I bought that book a couple of years back... Nice reference, but with so many dramas coming out each year, it gets dated pretty fast. Sweat

Yeah, I think the book stops at 2003 (or thereabouts). But for someone like me, who doesn't know a lot about Japanese dramas, it fills in a lot of gaps.

It's like a single edition of an encyclopedia of Doramas from A to Z (titles are in Romaji, obviously)...

Sounds like it would be a good read, but was it worth the purchase?

I just found this article which kind of talks about what happens to some of the other characters and more in detail about other things. Spoilers, of course!

It's a good historical reference if you're curious, but if you don't have any of the dramas from that period (and they're near-impossible to find), it might be a waste...

It's a great reference, but woefully out of date...the cover picture is terrific, but an odd choice for such a book, taken from what's easily one of the strangest doramas of all time, Kanno Miho's Iguana no Musume...

So more it's more like an indepth look at each drama (or the most popular) during certain years?

Yeah, good description.

@ Wynter - I think it's meant to cover all dramas from 1953 up to about 2003. There's not much in the way of critique of the dramas, but there's nice description for each drama.
I would think most dorama fans would find it a fairly interesting read.

@ runpup - I'd been wondering what drama the cover picture was from. It looks deeply freaky. I'm gonna be reading the description for that drama later.

From everyone's description, I think I'll get this book on my next Amazon order. I think it'll be good to read when I have downtime at work. Smile

I'm starting on book 1 again because I want to see if I can find clues and such. Or maybe because I don't want the HP universe to end just yet. Sweat
