The middle 3 episodes with Papaya Suzuki weren't too bad, I thought it had a chance up to that point, especially with Ryo coming up. Wrong again.

well basically from what i could gather she's watching this old police detective drama...and the cop (NAMED KURODA) is interrogating the suspect they arrested and then another cop comes in and says "KURODA the boss is calling for you.....then she manami starts about it...and mulls over in her head, "KUROBUTA from Yokocho is calling you" so she gets on the JR and heads to Kagoshima, Japan where they are famous for KUROBUTA....

and at the very end the detective tells the suspect, "you must be hungry, huh?"

basically it's a wordplay joke.

I wish...call me a showoff when I can watch doramas without subs....a commerical i might be able to handle but that about it.....

it only reminds me of how much i would actually like to be able to understand more...oh well..having said that...listening to doramas has helped preserve what little comprehension i have left.

The only reason I understood her, and not fully at that...is that CM has very little dialogue and she's thinking to herself stream of consciousness style, so it's not even an active conversation.

If you can read kanji it helps too. As Tu said it was a word play thing - Manami-chan was kind of hypnotized by the words and took the new JR line to Kagoshima for some black-haired pig cuisine.

Incidentally Kagoshima is Manami-chan's home prefecture.
