I see Mr Green

I think you'll be able to finish the drama.....my guess, you'll give it a 7 or an 8?

The first some eps were good. It felt a little slow in the middle...but ya, i still liked the ending Mr Green

P.S. I'm still very grateful you gave me school rumble Victory! Peace!

Thanks kyon kyon chan for the song lyric Big Grin

I finished this dorama last nite and I'm so glad the story was really centre in the relationship between Ken-chan and Aiko-chan Bleah soo beautiful. The part where Ken-chan listened to the song they used to sing together and when Aiko-chan reading her mom's letter to everyone are the best of all. Shameful Cry

Tanaka Koki's acting is superb! Ishihara also good, but that Kat-Tun boy definetely need more coaching.

Just watched ep2 of HTP...having only seen her in N's Aoi and Waterboys 2, where she was as serious as she could be, it's great to see her in a comedic role...and she's doing very well indeed...

i am happy i'm watching this dorama...i'm only up to episode 4 at the moment, don't worry i won't mention any spoilers but i must say the character of the FATHER is one of the most annoying characters of all time....it's very taxing to watch....i have no sympathy for him at all...honestly i know he's supposed to be over the top but still..... Shake Head

you should watch her in H2...so far that's her best role in my opinion.

Glad you're liking it. It's probably one of Satomi's best roles.

I loved the father and daughter acting here so this has gotta be one of my favorite dramas Victory! Peace!

Oops, forgot to remember I've seen her in H2...she was very good in that, but again that was a serious role, I'm enjoying her now as a comedienne...as for Daddy, he's ridiculous beyond measure...
I'm watching HTP two days after finishing Oyaji...I guess I just keep running across PsychoDads...

Right on...I guess for me it's a little different, I'm watching it DESPITE the father....the character's overprotectiveness is way too ridiculous in my opinion. I know it's a comedy but nonetheless his overbearing ways are a bit much....I'll give you a good example it's like Densha's constant crying in Densha Otoko..it got ridiculous after a while....but yeah I agree I think this role is better for Satomi than N's Aoi.

Oyaji freaked me out...I kept trying to watch it as comedy, but it wasn't funny at all,(the ganguro girl provided some relief)...well, at least it turned out well in the end...

I have to agree, I only watched one episode a while ago but had to stop because the portrait of the daughter/father relationship, albeit funny, didnLt fit at all with my ethical principles ( rofl - if I have any that is)

Just finished!

My Review: 8/10

I thoroughly enjoyed this drama, though I may be biased because I love both Satomi-chan and Miho-chan. The story line is light and the plot succeeded in keeping my interest throughout.

The slapstick is sporadic throughout and really makes the series quite fun to watch. Somewhere along the middle of the show, however, the comedy fades and it becomes serious and dramatic. The transition is smooth and I didnft realize the shift had taken place until the second last episode. Although in some dramas this would have been a major uncontinuity, it fit the theme of the drama perfectly. After all, the theme is growth.

The male lead (Taguchi Junnosuke) was terrible, and Ifll be really surprised if hefs given more acting roles, but I didnft mind him as much. Tokito Saburo (Uzaki Ken) was brilliant in this role. He annoyed the crap out of me in the first few episodes and I was afraid that if he continued that way, I wouldnft be able to watch the rest of the series. But his character simmers down to someone more manageable, and by the end of the series he was one of my favourite characters. Ishihara Satomi is growing as an actress and as her fan I couldnft be more proud. She still has a long way to go, but shefs levels above the other actresses in her age group. One thing is for sure, the girl can cry convincingly. And what can I say about Miho-chan?! She was absolutely perfect, as she is in all her roles.

Overall, the drama was fun. Itfs obvious that it was geared towards females in their 20s, and perhaps thatfs why I could relate to it a little.

I'll keep that in mind. It explains the rising of talentless JE boys. bleh

exactly! that reality goes a long way to explaining the current predicament of japanese television doramas...i mean every drama is littered with these fools....the doramas of the 90s weren't afflicted with the same "dis-ease." and it shows, too.

that's why many of the actors and actresses who developed a maturity in the 90s are the best crop of actors today...tho' you see much less of them because ppl are enamoured with the current crop of gimps.
