Finally convinced my niece to watch this movie today.... And she loved it!

She loved how it initially confused her, made her think, and forced her to really pay attention to connect all the dots together... Smile

That's great...I think I pissed off a lot of people I gave copies of this to, when I told them the central character was the remote control for an air conditioner...

Here's my Review of the movie, which I've procrastinated in writing. Sweat

B-san sent me this movie, and because I respect and value his judgment, I didn't hesitate popping it into the DVD player and pressing play. My judgment faltered, however, after watching through the first part of the film. I experienced a group of guys calling themselves the "Sci-Fi Club" without even knowing what "Sci-Fi" meant. Through a series of events, I watched them as they partook in their everyday routines. I was slightly more interested in the Photography Club, which consisted of two female characters, played by Maki Yoko and Ueno Juri (I'm a fan of both). I watched them play baseball, rough each other up, destroy a monument, steal a large penguin, take a bath, and break the A/C on the hottest of summer days; each event scattered with discrepancies and oddities. Big deal, right? So when's the plot kick in? With only the slightest interest now, I kept watching.

Enter the Time Machine.

The story picks up quite a bit when a mysterious machine, and an even more mysterious student, suddenly appears in the clubhouse. As characters took it in turn to play with the machine, I found myself re-watching the entire story again, only this time from a completely different point-of-view. Suddenly all those little discrepancies and oddities made sense. Right before my eyes the plot became complex and intricate, and every other second I found myself more and more excited over what was being revealed to me. Nothing about this movie is predictable.

The cast was brilliant. Eita really impressed me (his hair was a lot tamer, as well), and of course Maki and Ueno were perfect compliments. I donft think either of their roles were necessary to the overall plot, but you canft deny their acting ability.

This movie takes you through rips in Time that is both complicating, and excitable. When you watch this movie, you really understand how important Time is and how any disturbance can seriously destroy all that you know.
