The problem is Oscar won't let anyone that could possibly "outshine" Aya in her dramas. Which is a shame really :/
But I don't think You Ooizumi is all that bad for this role, he may not be the most handsome man but his acting is quite funny/interesting (at least it was in Haken no Hinkaku)
Hope Aya sings the theme song as well _________________

all that aside...her problem is she needs to get better scripts and work on her acting....her last couple of shows have bombed.
AGREED.
Hotelier really killed me. Had it not been for Aya, I wouldn't have even watched the first episode. ;(
I liked Ri Kouran (too bad it was at the same time as Karei naru Ichizoku or it would've had better ratings...) but I don't think that kind of character is meant for her.
Shimokita Sundays was alright. At times it was watchable, sometimes a bit boring. Then again, dramas by Yukihiko Tsutsumi tend to bomb (look at Sushi Ouji...) _________________

that's ridiculous logic though....because she's so young she has lot of room for improvement in terms of acting...if that's the case she's going to be relegated doing lame doramas with low ratings....what is she going to do school doramas for the rest of her life?
edit: obviously i'm not saying your assessment is wrong i'm just saying that if her talent management takes that attitude her career will suffer.

i'm reluctant to even watch it despite having downloaded it...i've heard lots of bad reviews....in fact i've only seen aya three times, once in KKK, AP, and Tsubasa...i thought she was good in all those but then i heard those were probably some of the best doramas she's been in as opposed to hotelier, shimokita, etc.

I agree with you, Aya has a lot of potential but they keep choosing the wrong dramas for her.
While I don't think Wild Mama sounds like the most interesting thing out there, it sounds better than Hotelier, lol. If it's anything like Oniyome Nikki 1, I will like ;D _________________

well ppl can hope for the best...she doesn't need another single digit ratings dorama because i don't think that will be too good for her.

SMART 2006 July
Aya's Interview Part II (translated by wen_yamada)
Q: Being a CA has to care about manners, is it hard for you?
A: Recently, I always say eI am really sorry.f in general conversation, it really affects me. The way of speaking of CA cannot be so casual, it must be formal, so I follow the words of the script.
Q: CA is one of the job that many girls want to be, so what is you dream job?
A: I want to a baby-sitter, because some of my friends are baby-sitters, so I am thinking of getting a license. I know there is l license of baby massage, I am really interested in it. I must go to get the license when I am not so busy.
Q: Massage for a baby?
A: I should say because there are not enough inter-action between children and parents. They should hug their children. Itfs really important for children. My parents always hug me when I was a child, I grow up with hugs.
Q: What is going to be focus in the drama?
A: At first part of the drama, Yoko is always on impulse. But from now on it will focus on Yokofs firm side. A new Yoko will be shown. Also there are many parts are about friendship and love, there are many parts that is admired.
Q: Readers want to know about the romantic part of the drama.
A: What is going to happen? Will it be triangle-relationship? Will Yoko fall in love? We still donft know that, but I hope the part of friendship can be continued.
Q: The last drama is one year ago.
A: Yes. Because of different dramas, the filming places are different, the arrangements are totally different, so I have no special feeling. Especially there is a fixed filming place this time, I can take a rest, so I am so happy to act this drama.
Q: Because of the character, you have to but on clothes of rock style?
A: After I had my hair cut, I act as Yoko. During this summer, I like rock style too, such as HYSTERIC GLAMOUR, RNA, Candy Stripper and so on, these are my favourite brands, and there are many clothes I like, I will wear them after I buy them.
Q: You havenft get your hair cut for a long time.
A: yes, about three months ago, I had my hair cut in my PV. In fact I want to have short hair, but I have to wear kimono because of work, so I canft find a suitable time for hair cut. Now there is a chance so I decided to have my hair cut in the PV. Itfs really comfortable to have short hair, I only need half shampoo to wash my hair.
