I recommend Hana Yori Dango 1 & 2 (i showed it to my friends and they all love it), Attention Please, Haruka17 (original story about Japanese idols), Anna-san no Omame (just because the 'Mitai naaaa' is a legend) and the drama i'm currently watching : LIFE !!

This drama is awesome. It talks about ijime and unfairness. But it's not subtitled yet ... so you jsut can find the RAW version on Veoh ... and it's not finished either ... waiting for the 8th episode Shameful Cry [/b]

First off, I'm extremely sorry if this is the wrong section to post this. xD

Well, I was drawn into JDorama when I first watched Ace wo Nerae... xD

So I was wondering if there were any other tennis-related JDoramas? o.o

The ones I know of so far are Ace wo Nerae and Happy! (Although I can't seem to find a way to download the latter).

Did you use the search engine?

I think you should probably be asking this question in the J-Drama Recommendations thread... Or at least in the J-Drama forum: http://jdorama.com/viewtopic.2708.htm

Moving.

That's what it says at the top of the list...

I've no interest in such chick-flicky dramas: life's tough enough as it is without getting wrung out when trying to relax at home... Shake Head

I do watch melodramas but I agree with your sentiment though....I don't necessarily relish a caustic tragedy.....

Sekai wa muzukashi tokoro desu....<the world is a difficult place>

Right on.

A movie would be okay... It's short term.

But 11 episodes of grief? Uh-uh. Shake Head

Life has some joy in it.

yeah man...i don't gravitate toward the severe dramas these days, even though i have them downloaded.....i have to be in a particular mood to endeavor watching them to be honest.

i totally feel you about watching a movie-length type thang...cuz it's more manageable per se....

hmmm.....you still gotta try watching tony takatani!

Speaking as a guy who does not like tear jerkers, but who has seen 14 of the shows on that list (Man, I have no standards), I have to say... I coudn't get through tony takatani!.

It was on cable last week, so I gave it my best try. They don't put that many Japanese films with subs on cable, so I try to take advantage of whatever is out there. But that movie set some new standards for, dull.

I'm not saying you're wrong, Tu_trik. Maybe if I'd been able to watch all of it I might have seen something in it that was worthwhile. But that dull depressing pace just beat me.

Nah, I can appreciate your opinion..it's a very slow deliberate pace....it does try one's patience or attention span. Given the fact the movie is an adaptation of one of the fabled Murakami's short stories...

I liked it but it's not something that has replay value.
