So the first drama of the Jan 2004 series has ended.
Tonight Ueto Aya's hit drama "ace wo nerae" ended after 9 episodes. While the drama was based on a popular manga series about tennis, no one really expected it to convert well to live action. But the show became a surprise hit! The casting is perfect and the series succeeded by not taking itself seriously. You could count on a light hearted episode every week. I'll miss it. The series as a whole gets an 8 out of 10 from me.

omgoodness.
i can't wait for these to be subbed/fansubbed/whatsoever
1) Okusama wa Majo
2) Kanojo Ga Shinjatta
3) Fireboys [sounds interesting.......?]
i MUST get my hands on the first 2!!!
reasons?
1) for crying out loud. it has yonekura ryoko inside it! and the background scenes look awesome.
2) sounds like it has a unique taste in it. might be a romantic comedy too?anyway,it has kimura yoshino and fukada kyoko inside it.hehe.
Ah...I want to see Ace no Nerae. I like Ueto Aya she can sing the very good song. And Yoshizawa Yu he is the best actor I like him from Doubutsu no Oishasan he's so Kawaii!. I love them!.

As always, Enau to the rescue! Thanks for the info
Can't wait to see the 5th season! I wonder who the casts are beside Yasuko Sawaguchi. I wish Hideo Sakaki would return in the cast, his performance and presence refreshed the series
Glad to know that the beautiful Miss Yasuko Sawaguchi has big effect to our dear friends here ; Pemu and Golgo san.

Orange Days
(on TBS)
Starring :
Satoshi Tsumabuki & Kou Shibasaki
Synopsis (from Daily Yomiuri On-Line) :
Collegiate romances will also make a comeback as the new school year starts April 11. In Orange Days (Sundays at 9 p.m. on TBS), Satoshi Tsumabuki plays a college senior who is searching for a job but instead discovers a mysterious music student, played by Ko Shibasaki.
This is the ONE to "watchout for". Not only having a great cast. But the script writer is the one who did Long Vacation, Beautiful Life, Love Story, and Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi. I have high hope for this one!
He'll play in a show called "Gege" in the coming spring here, as a guy who's gradually losing his sight due to illness. His co-actress will be Miho Kanno.

I'm So Happyyyyyyyyyy
I found this link that contains English written synopsis for TV Asahi dramas (OK, maybe it's weird but I've been looking for this TV Asahi page for ages )
BTW, I just found out that TV Asahi drama's "Aibou" / "Partners" has also continue the pattern of FUJI TV's SHIROI KYOTO/THE GREAT WHITE TOWER.
AIBOU does a nonstop production since last season until now (Jan-March 2004). Way the go AIBOU !!!!
"AIBOU" / "PARTNERS"
(on TV Asahi)
Starring :
Yutaka Mizutani (right) and Yasufumi Terawaki (left)
Synopsis (from TV Asahi website) :
Partners -the two only special mission officers-
Detective and friendship
Two unique outlaw police investigators try to solve mysterious and clueless cases with their very original and outrageous ways.
Story
Special Mission Task Team is not considered as important as it might sound. It is positioned in the lowest section of the Metropolitan Police Department and so-called as the goversized garbage dealerh. Ukyo Sugishita (Yutaka Mizutani) is a head of this Special Mission Task team. As people rumor that anyone who worked under Ukyo eventually leaves the office, he is called gthe grave keeper of human resourceh. However, there was another reason why people call him in this name. When Ukyo fist transferred to this section with his secret mission, all of his direct reports died mysteriously. Somehow, the police have sealed this incident from further investigation.
He'll play in a show called "Gege" in the coming spring here, as a guy who's gradually losing his sight due to illness. His co-actress will be Miho Kanno.
Why is Fujiki in more and more pathetique drama? Not to be mean or anything I thought high school teacher was quite pathetique although his acting was good. Plus..Miho Kanno, she's also in more and more dramatic role lately...after that flowers of algernon.
I've never really looked forward to spring drama but my eyes will be on
Sorimachi, Abe Hiroshi and Eisaku Yoshida's (haven't seen him in a long time) drama.

Hmmmmm, think so too
also notice that tv stations like to pair him with doctors - Love Revolution, the upcoming drama with Miho & Hatsutaiken... wonder why?
As for the new Fuji drama starting in April - Rikon Bengoshi with regulars
Amami Yuki and Mimura, guess whos the guest for 1st episode,
YUTAKA TAKENOUCHI
He will play an elite lawyer from Amami's old firm who plays an pivotal role in Amami's life. Popular actors / actress will appear as guests for the remaining episodes as well.
Ahh, will be great if Beginners' cast will guest starred in this series, especially so when Mimura is one of the regulars here, would really like to see Kirihara in action again
Aloww....need help to write below drama title in romaji because my pc did not support kanji or japanese character so i only can read name of actor and actress but not the title of the dorama. Thanks in advance
