His character in Saiyuki was pretty much the same too.

Sounds like he's making a living on that type of role... Just like Takenaka Naoto in all of his kooky roles...

The difference is Takenaka Naoto CAN act - I've seen him as a cool assassin gang boss, and as a kind father figure. Even in Nodame Cantabile you can see the changes in his body language when he took on a different side of the character. I'm not sure the same can be said of Itoh Atushi.

Yup, and we prolly won't know until he's given/tries out for a different type of role.

I just finished watching the movie Dear Friends. It was good, not great, but Keiko-chan has definitely improved. Applaud

She wasn't as good as she was in Swing Girls, but she still pulled off this character and is as adorable as usual.

I must say Motokariya seems to have lost some of the charm she exhibited in Swing Girls when she got rid of the glasses. That and her face has become a bit longer as she grows.

I think she still holds some charm, but you're right, she's really matured. I think her height makes her a bit awkward, but she's still adorable. She just has those features.

She's a solid actress, but not the kind that shines in a bikini. She's just a tad shorter than Juri-sama but she does have rather long legs - and she put them to good use in Boku Aruku.

The growing up part is bound to happen. As she was the second youngest amongst the Swing Girls her change will look more dramatic. Look at what the youngest (Tatsumi Natsuko) became - a gravure model in dire need of a slimming diet.

I'm finally able to watch Karei Naru Ichizoku. Victory! Peace! Just finished the second episode and I'll watch the third one a little later. It seems a little boring at first, but I'm sure it'll get better because a lot of people seem to like it.
