"Midnight Eagle" plans world premiere in L.A.
Sat, August 25, 2007 (11:54pm EDT)
Izuru Narushima's action thriller "Midnight Eagle," starring Takao Osawa and Yuko Takeuchi, will have its world premiere in Los Angeles, it was announced on Wednesday.
The screening takes place on October 2, and is part of a 100-million yen publicity campaign by Shochiku that also has backing from Universal Pictures. Aside from the cast and the media, a 200-member audience will be invited from Japan to attend the premiere. The event includes a reception and a press conference for the American media.
Shochiku is hoping the campaign will build momentum for sales at the American Film Market, which takes place in Santa Monica on October 31 to November 7.
"Midnight Eagle" is premiering in Japan at the Tokyo International Film Festival later in October. It has also been announced that the theatrical release has been advanced from a December date to November 23.

Tamaki also has a special drama this winter where he plays as Nobunaga.
This coming winter, TV Asahi plans to broadcast a jidaigeki drama special titled "Teki wa Honnoji ni Ari." The plot is based on the novel "Akechi Samanosuke no Koi," the final work in a trilogy by Hiroshi Kato about the forced suicide of Oda Nobunaga at the temple Honnoji.
Historically, the general Akechi Mitsuhide is credited with causing Nobunaga's downfall. Kato's novel focuses on Mitsuhide's nephew Samanosuke, who fought alongside his uncle during the assault on Honnoji.
In TV Asahi's adaptation, Somegoro Ichikawa plays the lead role as Samanosuke, while Hiroshi Tamaki plays Nobunaga.

Curious, anyone here got a chance to see 'Henshin'?
Tamaki Hiroshi was the lead actor in it and I was wondering what people thought about it.
Is there an English subtitled version of the movie out there?
Any help would be great!
I've been dying to get my hands on this movie too, but apparently the dvd with English subtitles can't be found anywhere. But my friends and I are in the middle of having it subbed. _________________
