OMG when did she become so bitchy? I'll just translate a bit on what was going on in this video.
During this interview,
Host: Were there any particular scenes that was memorable and unforgettable?
Erika: Not really.
Host: Really? No? I see i see.
Director of the movie told the host about Erika baking some cookies before coming for this interview.
Host: Would you like to share with us why did you bake the cookies?
Erika: No reason.

oh man that poor girl that has to stand next to erika. the only thing good about that video was takeuchi yuko. even if she was being tight lipped from some dental work or whatever, she could have done it without all that b*tchy attitude. _________________

damn.. i really like her as an actress.. but the way she acts here at public.. i dont know.. even Paris Hilton will never act like that i think.. _________________
You know... I rarely post in this forum. Usually I just lurk and look for good dorama to watch. But this recent "issue" has me really ticked off.
Has it occured to anyone that maybe, just maybe, she has some problem that's upsetting her these past few days, you know... just like everyone else on this god forsaken planet. Yeah, sure shes always had a bit of an attitude but who cares?! Do some of you guys really prefer the other actresses/idols/singers that are all plastic smiles and candy covered rainbows while in front of camera's? Do some of you really believe that's how they act when the camera's looking away? At least with Erika, what you see is what you get. For me, it makes her more real and more respectable than any other Japanese celebrity I know. I think its safe to assume that none of us here knows her personally. So unless you do, don't be so quick to judge her and label her queen ****h of the universe or anything to that effect. We don't know what she's been through and/or what she's going through right now and with the way the Japanese press works, we probably never will.
My point is, cut her some slack. Everyone has their bad moments. No one suddenly acts like that for no apparent reason. I apologize for the outburst but this has been bugging me for a while, and reading some of the posts just.... gets to me.
On a side note, I also have this weird theory that maybe this all some elaborate publicity stunt.

Sure everyone has bad days...but to display the attitude she had that day just seemed very unprofessional to me. You're a famous celebrity, you should be showing some professionalism when everyone's watching you, I bet there are people who look up to her as a role model. You can have a bad day, but how long is that PR event..? She can't at least release her stress later? I felt so bad especially for that little girl beside her, she was answering questions nicely, while Erika...well she just looked pissed. I'm not judging her or anything, just felt that it was not professional.

agree with alcetic
and another news from her..
Erika Sawajiri apologizes, suspended from PIFF
Early on Tuesday, actress Erika Sawajiri issued an apology on her official website for her unprofessional conduct this past weekend. She showed up at a PR event for the opening of her new movie, "Closed Note," but she was visibly upset about something and spoke only three brief sentences during the event. The incident reinforced her negative reputation as "Erika-sama" and drew sharp criticism from the media, other celebrities, and fans.
The actress was vague regarding the reasons for her attitude, but she acknowledged her lack of professionalism and admitted she had betrayed her fans. She also recognized that just an apology would not end the matter, so she plans to make amends for it in the future. Hoping to clear any doubt, her agency asserted that Sawajiri herself had formed the contents of the letter.
"Closed Note" is screening at the Pusan International Film Festival, which opens on the 4th. Sawajiri was scheduled to walk the red carpet with director Isao Yukisada for the opening ceremony and to appear at the film's showing on the 6th. But due to the incident (which reportedly caused the movie's website to temporarily shut down after a flood of comments), her agency and Toho decided to cancel her appearance. Yukisada, however, will still attend as planned.
Meanwhile, one of Sawajiri's responses ("betsu ni...") during the PR event has become somewhat of a catchphrase among her critics.

I agree. There's a time a place for everything, and venting stress at a press conference of all places is just not smart, especially for a relatively new actress such as herself. Plus, she has a reputation of having a holier than thou attitude. It's a major turn-off to many people. If she really wants to establish herself as a professional, she needs to learn how to get a handle on that.
More news from Japan-zone.com:
Actress Sawajiri Erika(21) is one of several major celebrities doing damage control in the last couple of days. In Sawajiri's case it follows harsh criticism of her recent grumpy behavior. On her official website today, she issued a statement formally apologizing to fans and organizers of last Friday's PR even for her new movie. While on stage before the screening she appeared sorely pissed off about something, kept her arms folded, and gave only brief and testy replies to questions. In her statement, she acknowledged her bad behavior and that she had "betrayed" her fans, and vowed to learn from the experience. Over the weekend, her attitude was criticized as unprofessional and she was slammed by self-appointed showbiz watchdog Wada Akiko (57). She said it had reinforced her image as a self-centered "jo-sama" or movie queen. _________________

I'd be mad if my co-stars asked if they could borrow my shark tooth to open a can of tomato juice......
