Papa to Musume no Nanokakan. Plot not new, IIRC I first saw something like that back in 1984, probably starring Bette Midler.

I guess you could say it's not a new plot. That's the old "Freaky Friday" gimmick. The first "Freaky Friday" came out in '76, staring Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster. The they did it again in the '80's with Shelly Long and Gaby Hoffman... then they did it again with Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan.

And there have been dozens of others in between. Dudley Moore even did one in the 80s where he swapped bodies with his son.

And I've noticed at least 5 different Japanese series with the same plot device.

And there's probably tons more with the "pain-in-the ass" mother-in-law plot device. bleh

Pain in the ass mother-in-law.

Boy meets Girl.

David Vs. Goliath.

Thee are only so many plots. It's what you do with them that counts.

I think the 1st one I watched was with Jodie Foster. I did a little bit of research and it seems it all comes from a book called Vice Versa published in 1882. There are tons of dad/son version too. (The original is).

Since it's old, and possibly public domain, it's not surprising they are milking this story like crazy. Sweat

It's called Ockam's Razor - it's liking getting cut on the ass by a razor.

heck, i can't believe i'm actually watchin' two doramas filled with brain-dead fangirls in each episode in a row.

More like a bishi buffet. However, I found Hana Kimi hilarious, especially since 3 or 4 of the actors were from Tokusatsu shows. (BABAY!)

Finishing Water Boys 2005 tonight and then moving into the fall season by watching Dream Again Ep. 1 tonight. Still sitting on my hands for the Iryu 2 sub, but I'm patient!

yeah i think it's funny too.

eeeh... who? i thought only Minami was from tokusatsu. (<- i like him too)

actually, i kinda like this. Ikuta Toma's acting is surprisingly convincing. But Horikita Maki is just lame. she's not convincing at all. i never liked her. Even an idiot can tell that she's a girl from a couple of meters away, no need to touch her vajayay.

Did a quick scan thru your dramas, I believe this one is first time you've seen Yuki Amami. I like her a lot. No particular reason, I just do.

O good! I like watching dramas with new faces for me. Exposes me more to the varying talent. Is she the main?

Yes, but I haven't seen this drama. I'm guessing she does her own singing in this because she started out as a singer/dancer.
