Heh... this is a pretty funny story about Mariko.

While most of the members of AKB48 were selected through auditions, Mariko is so far the only exception. Before joining, she worked part-time in the café on the same floor as the AKB48 theater. Having intended to audition for the group, she unfortunately had to work on the date of her audition and was thus unable to attend.

She shared this story with customers at work as little more than a talking point, and was surprised when hundreds of them wrote to Akimoto Yasushi requesting that she be allowed to audition. Presumably realizing that she came with a pre-prepared fan base, Akimoto allowed her to join the group as the most recent member of Team A just three months before Team K was formed.

Great T-Shirt aquisition! Right on!

All of it's great! You got some fantastic bargains. Bonk

What do you think of Watanabe Mayu?

yeah, i am happy with my winning bids...
bargains only on a few honestly....i got a good price in yen on some Nozofisu, as you can tell from my photos 5 of 12 were of just Nozofisu, and inaddition i provided the pix of another winning bid on Nozofisu plus, i will be bidding more new photos on her.

I love the shirt, and i may wear it in Japan next visit, to show it off and my love for AKB-Nozofisu!

Mayuyu is adorable, despite her being not one of my favorites. She is so cute in her videos, have you seen them? I don't think she can replace Acchan, as i have begun to like her even more now. But Mayuyu's is the most expensive AKB girl in the bid photos, items in the auctions....very high prices on her.

and nice Mayuyu flood, Applaud

yeah, i heard that story of Mariko-sama...and such a wonderful happy ending as she became one of the popular Team A members....just look at some of her photos, items on the yahoo auctions, they go high, almost as much as Mayuyu items. I happily bid and won a Mariko photo, and at 2600 yen too.

I think with Mariko-sama i feel this connection with her, most likely since she was one of my first favorite AKB48 girls and ironically enough, i met her in person back in July when i was in Akihabara, it was total luck that i met one of my favorite AKB girls, like a dream come true.

Mariko-sama July 6th, 6pm, Friday, AKB 8th floor, Don Q. building, and how can i ever forget her...i remember word for word, and all in Japanese too.

lol.....well, i consider it pure luck in meeting her..i was there at the right time and the right place...and the amazing thing i tell others on Stage48 forums, is that i only had to wait for 5 minutes in virtually no line to meet her. Mariko being my favorite, and still among my favorites list, it was a dream come true. I would hope that i can meet her or any other AKB girl in the Spring time when i return, and hopefully get to see AKB in concert this time.

Excellent! Hopefully you will be able to meet more. Maybe there'll be a release about the same time and we can meet all of them.

Something goofy at work happened. We all got emails today stating how much vacation time we have left for the rest of the year. I've got 7 days left according to official records. But that's wrong.

Maybe no time to take days off this year, so that'll be 22 days off in 2008. Enough for 2 good trips to Japan (instead of that 4 day whirlwind express to see AKB48, MM, and then immediately fly home). Five AKB48 show would be the hippest.

I don't even know how to get to the auction sites. And my buddy that lives close by Akihabara is not returning emails to please go pick up some merchandise. All this spam email we get is making people delete everything.

7 days vacation seems ok, but not much...
but 22 days off in '08, now that is a lot! when do you hope to go back to Japan?

a 4 day whirlwind express to AKB,MM, would seem like a blur and too too quick, i would be jetlagg'd all during the trip and after, no time to just relax and admire the Japanese girls, and hear the crows in the air, so Japanese!

I am planning on returning to Japan in March/Apr, i want to see them in concert, and see the Sakura trees and Mt Fuji without the clouds blocking it. 5 AKB shows would be extremely special, maybe you might meet Acchan and Mayuyu, are they your two favorites?

March or April is same time frame here. Gotta see the MM Spring 2008 schedule and when they are in Yokohama. That'll be the time I'll go. Then again in the Fall with the whole family.

Mayayu is one of your fav's, right? Bonk

Gotta run for a bit. Budget's (car rental place) webservice's are down.

if you read on the S48 forum threads, under the shipping thread, Eques talks a lot about it, and i think there are some tutorials...

i got into them, got a paypal account, then joined Crescent, and have been happily losing and winning bids. My collection has grown to numerous BLT magazines, a signed T-shirt from Nozomi Kawasaki, and many BLT photos. An expensive hobby to say the least.

you should consider the auctions, but it can be expensive, especialy Mayuyu photos and Acchan, 2 of the highest most popular girls on the auctions.

i think Mayuyu is absolutely adorable, despite being frail and thin, but i think she is ok, but not among my favorites, there is honestly so many cute girls to adore on AKB48. I don't see you much on Stage48 forums, you should post more often.
