Would this count as a JPN movie? LOL!

Staring Batman himself, Micheal Keaton!

Dead link, Niko. But I'm guessing it's that Keaton movie about him and Japanese autoworkers or something, right? Smile

Heh. Talk about fantasy...

Actually, there's a number of various joint projects between U.S. and international carmakers, I think. Still seems odd, considering those UAW goons were smashing Japanese cars with sledges in the 80's-90's... How things have changed.

Universal Pictures Europe has released several asian movies under the label of Asian vision products over here. Such movies are The Returner, The Phone, The Blue Light, The Eye, Yesterday, The Sea is watching, When the last sword is drawn, Dark Water, The Ringus. etc. A lovely weekend is expected Smile Headin out to the local video rental shop.
Hopefully Universal will continue releasin more goodies, yay! *happy* Such a rare occasion over here since we get overfed by the hollywood rubbish.

The movie "Tokyo Nagaremono" (Tokyo Drifter) is a classic, which I think people ought to see. It has very stylish camerawork and sets. It's kind of a singing cowboy movie. And by cowboy I mean yakuza. But it does have a barroom brawl. For me, the strangeness of this movie is part of the attraction.

I was sorely disappointed in the director's last work "Pistol Opera". I love Esumi Makiko, but not at all in this movie.

I think Trading Places was better than Coming to America. Beverly Hills Cop the best Eddie Murphy movie? I guess....

I recently watched "Bounce KoGALS", about high school girls doing "play dates" for money ... only things start to go wrong in a big way:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0122393/

and "Monday", a black comedy that reminded me a little of Scorsese's "After Hours":

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0239655/

They both have thrilling moments and some (relieved) laughter ... but they are both very dark psychologically because of the subject matter.

I recommend them both!
