what i dont have a fondness for, its the exchange rate w/ the sterling.
My "foundness" has led me to find that the forex rate is over 2 to 1 against the dollar...
I was listening to KNX 1070 news radio yesterday and one of their reporters was calling in from London and he said he found a pair of Addidas sneakers that cost the equivalent of $320 dollars.

It's even worse here. 1 Aussie $ = around .40 Pound Sterling
I gotta work Fri, Sat, and Sun. Took today off because very sick.
So, got a question... it's kind of sickening though. Last week my family was sick with the flu or a combination of things. Oldest daughter had congested lungs and would cough to try to get the junk out and would come to the point of gagging. Too thick to throw up, but the reflex was there. Finally a sticky mass would come out and land on her shirt. It was terrible watching her like that.
This week, I got it. And same symptoms. Simulated throwing up with nothing coming out. So violent it feels like a rib is broken. Is that possible? That was yesterday, but even today sneezes and some coughs to get the congestion cleared hurt so bad on the side it makes me yell. It's much worse than the actual flu itself.
No Thanksgiving festivities tomorrow.
Hopefully well enough to get back to work on Friday.
But wondering if a trip to the doctor for an x-ray is warranted. Is it possible to break a rib like that? Or is it just muscle that's injured. Oh yeah, last night when coughing this weird popping and movement in the lower rib area happened. That hurt bad and was scary.

I don't think you can fracture/break your ribs by coughing. However the spasms may pull a muscle or two, or at least form micro-tears in muscles covering the rib-cage and in-between ribs. Keep you torso warm and wait a couple of days. If the coughing or hurting doesn't get better, pay the doc his consultation fees.
Reminder: people suffering from flu/cold will try to sooth their throats by drinking water. Make sure it is just luke-warm and not hot - hot fluids will end up making your throat more itchy.
