I'm on a mission to rewatch some of the doramas i have seen long time ago... hehehe... nanisama and star no koi comes to mind
anyway, looks like churasan is good from whats been posted in this thread so i'm giving it a try.... hopefully, i'll have it ready to watch by weekend. well, the first 5 eps, for now...
Star No Koi is a masterpiece. Norika chan looks like and acts like a Hollywood star perfectly.... Just watching her in this is pure pleasure...
I can see why she was considered such a great beauty and was sought after for so many commercials. I've watched this 5 times already.
I apologize to those who don't share my enjoyment of her beauty and charisma on the screen but it allows more bandwith of her for me... thank you.

Ralph...maybe there are some eccentrics who don't cave in to Norika's infinite perfections, but the many people to whom I gave a copy of Star No Koi were full of praise both for her acting and her beautiful face, not to mention her magnificent body.
I'm just popping in to remind you that without Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, Star would not be Star...his velvet-voiced narration is what launches you into the drama and gets you completely involved. He is so skilled at wringing every drop of interest from his character...his shyness, his sincerity, his self-doubts...he plays those brilliantly. But he also captures Sousuke's surprising strength. It's a masterful performance.

Geezer! Of course for you the word "eccentric" was a compliment! You know, I was talking about Norika in Star No Koi. That was her defining role, and I do think she was special and fabulous in it. I hardly noticed her in Love Generation. I don't think she is given the best roles to play.
I was just looking through a long list of doramas I didn't have, wondering what I wanted, and the one you mention I just passed by. I could tell it wouldn't be any good.
But really, everyone I know loved her in Star. You didn't like it?
Bay Ridge! I am wowed. I live in snobby obnoxious Park Slope, but I hang out in Bay Ridge and hope to move there someday...I think it's the best neighborhood anywhere.

Awww that's too bad... >>lets it fall lower on her watch list<<
Right now I'm on epi 82 of Churasan!
Well. You are almost at the point of my absolute favorite scene. I think you will know it when you see it. Although I'm not sure it was my favorite the first time I saw Churasan or became that way in re-viewings. I've found that things I felt were slow or boring the first time have evolved into good friends....

Just finished Ushi ni Negai wo. I found it quite enjoyable, but will probably forget it by the end of next week.
This is one of those fluffy-feel-good-friendship-and-sweat kind of drama with a nice setting and a couple of babes (Aibu Saki and Toda Erica) to gorge at - Karina is just not my cup of tea. The supporting cast is very solid and the story well drawn out. It tried to discuss a social issue in Japan - the demise of the dairy farm industry. Unfortunately it is so far removed from my daily life the plot itself just did appeal to me.
Not a bad way to spend an hour or so everyday to relax yourself. But don't go looking for excitement and certainly no naughty bits.
