Looks like they'll be showing Jikou Keisatsu in the Sunday 9 pm slot starting Dec. 2nd. Wish it were Jikou Keisatsu 2 because I haven't seen that one yet, but anybody that hasn't seen the first one, I recommend it, Joe Odagiri is such a crack up as the nerdy cop.
Yeah, it's a good show...
BTW, G-Mark, Geez and I are trying to get the subs straightened out for season two... Two more episodes to go.

the show that replaced it was kind of interesting, if only they had subs, i'd probably watch it more. Other than Furin and some random jatv news i dont watch much anymore..
i dont watch sundays, cause the nephews are here watching nature or something else. If i get my own tv, that may change, but i still need to be in bed around 9-10pm
They still have not straightened out making the video darker than normal.
Secondly I'm not into dramas where each episode is a story. I like one story for the duration of the drama. For a moment I thought they had a catarsis when they slipped and showed two interesting dramas in a row, The Family and , HYD 1. Now they are back to regular boredom. If I want to watch police themed dramas I can turn on any American channel. Exactly what I'm trying to get away from. I want the Doramas that make Japanese entertainment so interesting and enjoyable.... Love Gen, Long Vacation, Pride, Last Christmas, Brother Beat, etc.
Jikou keitatsu is definitely not on my radar screen of dramas that I would care to watch. I'm simply not geared for detective dramas which as I said I could watch ad nauseum on American TV. Why would I watch them in foreign language when I'm trying to get away from the boring daily American TV fare.
OK. I'm watching the sunday night imitation police drama on ch18 now out of respect for Ikiwaki Chizuru. It's worse than American police drivel. No suspense... no drama. nothing to hold my attention except of course just seeing Ikiwaki.
My what a beautiful young lady she is becoming. I hope she will soon appear again and again in real jdramas. Her incredible acting skills are so misused in these meaningless skits.
The Kohaku schedule was announced during the break. Wow. Back to 5 hours.... 8:30pm to 1:30 am. And I see in the lineup that Mai-K is not in the competition this year.... That's sad....
But on the other hand Mika Nakashima and Ai Otsuka will be present.
And naturally the SMAP guys. One of them will be MC for the red team.

Well, like Racer said, it's not really a hard-boiled police drama. I call it a "quirky Columbo" You already know who the bad guy is, the fun is in watching Joe Odagiri and all the oddball characters he meets along the way. It doesn't help the way channel 18 chops it up with such long commercial breaks either.

Exactly... The trip is as fun as the destination.
I'll take that over a bloated tear-jerker or a heavy-handed drama any day of the week.

Just a reminder, the Red/White Music Battle thing is on starting @ 8:30 p.m. on New Year's Eve. Although, the last couple years it seems to have gone downhill, just my opinion.

Is it because of the guest performers or something else?

Also ch18 manages to screw portions up... last year they left out a segment and then there was the fiasco with the imitation nude scene that had to be redone so as not to offend the sensitivities of - who again? Certainly not the watching public.... but the censors live in their own little clinically clean laboratories.
I just noticed that also on the Runbaord forum. Once again it's a short story compilation.... but this time I may watch it. I think hotel situation comedies lend themselves to short story collections.... so I will try a couple of weeks. For sure far more than solving a case after the fact with no meaningful resolution.

Saw epi 1 tonite, obviously it's not going to make anybody forget Long Vacation but I think Toshikyuki Nishida should be able to keep me entertained.
