"Gokusen 3" confirmed for spring

Rumors of a third season of the "Gokusen" drama series were confirmed on Wednesday. Yukie Nakama will reprise her role as the teacher Kumiko Yamaguchi (affectionately known as "Yankumi").

Based on a manga by Kozueko Morimoto, "Gokusen" has already had two previous seasons. The first, in 2002, averaged ratings of 17.4%, while the 2005 sequel averaged ratings of 28.0%.

The third series will premiere in April on NTV, though the specific time slot has not yet been announced. Casting for the students will be decided around the end of this year.

Why do they call a bunch of short very boring and repetitive stories a drama series? In my book a drama series is one story told over a number of episodes.

How about Yukie-chan getting so sick of this drama series she hacks everyone, including the writers, directors and producers, to death with a katana??

Here I am still hoping that maybe season 3 might take place in a girls' high school... Sure, she can handle the boys, but can she handle the girls? I don't think so. Or... Yukie vs the Elementary School kids from hell. Other than that... if it's another boys' school I won't watch it. Season 2 was like season 1, some characters even looked exactly the same. I mean, the idea of Gokusen is pretty neat. But I don't need another season that looks and feels exactly like the first one. That's just... B.L.A.R.G.H. _________________

What could possibly be new, other than a different set of pretty boys for Yankumi to protect?

Instead of protecting them, she should beat some sense into them... That would work.
