I'm on episode 145 of Churasan, but I'm starting to fear the approaching end. I don't want it to stop!
Popped mine in to see where you're at and I'm reminded that little Kazuya has the BIGGEST eyes of any child actor I've ever seen! And, yeah, that the problem with just about all asadoras, they last so long, it's almost like you become part of the family.

It really is! And I can totally understand how Ralph can re-watch it 7 times now.
All I gotta say is THANK GOODNESS for the sequels!

Exactly right. I feel as if I belong to the Kohagura family and I know every cast member as if they were my neighbors. I want to be with them forever......fortunately I can do that by just viewing any episode at random. Eri is such a strong hypnotic character it's impossible to let her go. Her smile is totally bewitching.

I started on the 6th episode of Erai Tokoro ni Totsuide Shimatta! and it's the scary episode of the series. The thing that amused me was that they mentioned a woman coming out of a well, which was obviously a nod to Yukie's role as Sadako in Ring 0. _________________
It's more like one disc a day. I can't just watch one episode! Luckily, it's a really busy time of the year for me so it's difficult to find the time to sit and watching anything.
I do believe I'm on epi 152 now tho... or was it 154? _________________

For starters, it stars Misako Tanaka & Yuko Asano, so right off the bat I'm happy.
Follow that up with the fact that it's a goof ball comedy and I'm in seventh heaven.
What level of comedy?
(Mini spoiler, but it's just one sight gag in a ten year old series, so I hope people don't mind.)
In one scene guest star Shiro Sano runs around a hedge. Once behind the hedge we can only see him from the shoulders up.
There is a deep pit behind the hedge that he has not seen.
We see him drop down into the pit... but his hat hovers in mid air for three full seconds before following him down into the pit.
Real life has very little to do with this series.
As I watch it, I keep thinking of Lucy and Ethel. Only in this one, Lucy (Tanaka) wants to be a detective instead of wanting to be in show business. And Ethel is hot, and carries a gun.
And by the way... the rest of the detectives in the show... and the other housewifes in the show... are hilarious.

Omg, I cannot wait to watch this series for that scene alone! I remember seeing this drama long ago, but that was before my obsession with Shiro started. Not sure if that scene was a spoiler, so I just added the spoiler thingy just in case.
As for me, I finished Erai Tokoro and I thought it was a fun comedy. Nakama Yukie was adorable in it and her husband in that drama, who I only saw before in serious type of roles, did a pretty good job acting as a goofy dork. Though it was cliched after a while, I thought it was a pretty solid series so I'm giving it an 8 out of 10.

Hmmm, I never liked her hubby in that series. But I loved Yukie, of course, and some of the others, particularly Mari Hamada (birthday girl!)

I love Hamada Mari in that series! Hell, I think she's great in everything I've seen her in even though she pretty much has the same types of roles. You should check her out in Koi no Bakansu, which is the first show I've seen her in. It's an excellent comedy as well. _________________
