I think I found a good description on how this day and the last week used to be for me.

Wow that is great MixxDreamer! Applaud Definitely to be commended for that!

All I do is work for half a day, then go to my favorite Japanese video rental shop, rent some dramas, then go home and watch the tapes until my brother (who is 13 years younger, but twice as big!) kicks me off the TV. Sweat

NICE!!!.... but how early and WHY so early?

Two reasons... One, it's really nice and cool (usually a 6:30am tee time). And two, if there aren't any idiot groups ahead of mine (or IN my group), I can be in my car and on my way to somewhere else before 12-noon.

Which Japanese video store do you go to?

I go to Japan Video (by Likelike Drive Inn) and Japan Video/Tokyo Video (in Waikiki on Kuhio Ave). Big Grin

The membership at Nippon Video (Kaheka St) is just too damn expensive. Plus, the owner is a dickwad. (IMO)

No kidding? Whoa. That place has a big selection, though.

Hey, aho', you tried that Panda dim sum lunch down the street? Best on the island. Best I ever tasted, actually. Not being a big fan of dim sum, I guess that's an OK assessment.

What is The Man doing on Saturday? Well, he's gonna fCENSORED!!!! CENSORED! CENSORED! 'til he gets so sweaty that the sweat starts stinging his eyes and has to stop for li'l while Rolling eyes . Yeah, gotta try beat 6 hours . . . 6 and 14 minutes, to be technical about it.

Yeah, they do have a HUGE selection of stuff. Went in there once with my friend, but I never joined 'cause of the membership fee and 'cause of my feelings about the owner (from other related cases/bus.) And (not to spread rumors or anything), but I heard he may have some kind of Yakuza ties.

Never tried there. Heard it was good, but I never had the chance to. I'm eating at Subway 'cause I wanna look like Jared! Beaten
Nah, but Gomaichi is the place to go!!!!!!! And don't forget Fairwood Drive Inn (currently closed for renovation until the 29th of March) right up the road on Keeaumoku St. Imari is ok, but I don't go there anymore 'cause I had the worst service there. (ie: waiting 45 minutes for one freakin' bento)

Man, I hate to say it, but, we probably-must have-HAD TO HAVE crossed paths at some point. I don't like Fairwood. Period.

Imari is good, great actually . . . tip: call in your order; and, yeah, they get really busy at lunch time because, way me and my coworkers figured it, LOT of folks order from downtown proper, even as far as the airport, too. But, you gotta admit, can't get a better bento around the Ala Moana area (Imari, if you didn't know, is actually the SAME Imari that's listed in the Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within's "thanks" credits; guess Square picked up a lot of their takeout from there). Lot of the Japanese tourists eat there too, so, word must be spreadin' in Japan 'bout Imari.

Can't stand that Subway, either.

Go up toward King St. if you want Korean food -- that Choi's Family Restaurant is THE best on the island.

Looks like we agree on Gomaichi, though; the only place I can get ramen that taste the same as I remember from my Tokyo vacations.

I go to Japan Video too! All the people that work there are really nice and the late fee is reasonable Bleah.

I also have membership at Nippon Video (I started there when they were in the book store side), but I don't go there very often because I too think the owner is a jerk (always acts so stuck up!) and there isn't much parking.

I only go there when I want to watch an older drama that Japan Video no longer carries. I wish Japan Video would have kept some of the older dramas so that I wouldn't have to go to Nippon at all!

I agree! If you call in your order ahead of time then you don't have to wait that long. Also, I loooove their cream croquette!

No doubt huh?! How come ya don't like Fairwood? The Ahi and NY steak is killers there!!! Maybe you just ate something bunk? Anyways, sorry to hear that you don't like the food there.

Heh. Even when I used to phone my orders in, I still had to wait when I came to pick it up. Guess they don't like me or something! Beaten

Yeah, to be honest, I haven't ate there since I was a kid. Now, I notice that it's being majorily Korean owned here on Oahu.
KIM CHEE SUBSANDWHICH! Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. *spit spit*

Haven't heard of the place. To be honest, I'm not too fond of Korean food. Sweat

Yeah Gomaichi is the Sh*ts!!!!!! I know the owner personally. Very nice guy! Met him while I was working at Central Pacific Bank. (Makiki branch and then Kaheka Daiei branch) Went drinking with him at Noda Tome bar once. (One of the few bars by Panda rest.) But the Kimura's are very nice and they make some bomb ass Chicken Cold Noodle. (My 'usuals'). The Tan Tan Men is pretty crip too! *yum yum*

Rinrin wrote:

Yes they are! I went to school with Shane Miyasato. (the chubby kid who works there)
That big chick speaks Japanese very well. (IMO) What is she? Spanish or something huh?! Beaten

Yeah, the owner is Naito (forgot his first name though. But it doesn't matter to me)

i'm still feeling it today. not as bad as yesterday, but still feel like crap.
Sad
