And I have to say, I'm having a great time with it.

I've never been a big Toyokawa Etsushi fan before... but I've become one watching this show.

It is sly, it is snarky, it is stylish, irreverant, funny... it's making fun of the "safe" style of storytelling that's been going on in Japan lately, and they're making fun of themselves as they go.

I just wish I had a better set of subs for this series. I'm working off those gawdawful EngRish subs that come on the Taiwanese discs... and there's no way I'm getting the real flavor of what's being said.

How can you forget to mention Reiko Takashima.....a big draw for me even though she had a supporting role.

I'm also about finished with this drama...
but I've been watching via aznv.tv, and the subs there are by XrayMind & Haruspex and are quite good...
I guess it comes down to the medium you choose...

Arrrrgh!!! I hadn't realized there were soft subs for this show!

Ah well. Too late now. I only have one episode left. But I will have to take steps to improve my copy.

One of these days I expect I'll want to watch the show again.

Thanks for mentioning it.

it's been a while since i watched a dorama after finishing the first season of Prison Break and the un-finished fourth season of Desperate Housewives. There's also good reviews for this dorama so i hope it's going to turn out great Rolly

finished 1st episode of Hotaru no Hikari

first thing, i've never experienced work before so i was wondering, are work places really like this?

Everything in this dorama is a bit absurd actually. Too many coincidence. How she shares the house and how this cliche 'exceptional' hot guy who went abroad comes back. and Ayase Haruka's character is extremely stupid. It's the femme novel kind of thing but feels really fiction. So the whole setting is just... strange.

hope it gets better. it is showing a fun side though.

No Shameful Cry they are not.
I only saw two episodes and they seem always to work on some cool concepts. But they donLt show the budget struggles, the negociations to get approvals and the sheer boredom linked to the execution of administrative tasks that have to be delivered as well. But hey itLs fiction!

I often feel like her though, after a long day, dress down, have a beer and relax! Sleep

LOL.

There's always that romantic/sexual tension in a drama that hooks viewers. Smile

^ So true.
Utsumi, however, nerved me so bad.
And I'm tempted to say that Katori Shingo'd played her role better hehe

I started with ̊쑽Pj [Ashita no Kita Yoshio] when it was aired the day before yesterday, mostly drawn in by the great casting.
And I wasn't disappointed. Intense, and (damn it) hooking me from the first episode.
I expected better ratings for this, though. Maybe it'll pick up.

I guess I liked Utsumi because she reminds me of me alot. There were times in the show I wanted to punch Yukawa.

Also I like the actress that played Utsumi. She was great in Battle Royal and Orange Days
