I'm one of those people who flip to the back of a book to see how it ends.... But even if someone tells me a spoiler I will still watch it til the end. I'll still appreciate the journey even though I know the ending.

Someone tell me!!! ...does Sakura-sensei end up with Katsuragi-sensei? I sure hope so!

Churasan was about a cute girl from Okinawa who moved to Tokyo to be a nurse. The family back in Okinawa was I think the most entertaining part. Then before that was Suzuran which took place in the north and was in the early 20th c.

These are a lot like the Spanish language "Maria" shows where you have single virtuous woman where everthing bad happens to her... poor thing...

I'm dying here. Please let me know how Sakura ends. Yesterday's(SF Bay Area) episode Robbie gives Sakura an engagement ring in front of Katsuragi sensei and then Robby gives him a smug look. Ugh I hate that guy!!! Katsuragi sensei looked so sad... Please tell me Sakura ends up with Katsuragi sensei. Feel free to email me.

Hi all, I just joined this board. I agree with the previous poster! We need spoilers on Sakura! I just got to the point where Katsuragi hugs Sakura at san-tera-mai and Sakura finally figured out that he is interested in her that way. Here in the Bay Area we only get these once a week! I have to know what happens! I guess it is obvious who she is going to end up with but I would still appreciate a good, and if possible, detailed spoiler since I can't wait forever to see how this will turn out!

Which point do you want me to describe. I dont want to spoil too much for you. I am also in the SF Bay Area but I was able to get a copy of the series from ep 120-end so I know how it ends. And yes, it is just as we would expect with her and Katsuragi.

Don't worry about spoiling anything for me... spoil away! What happens after this? Do they get all awkward with each other? Does she reject his advance? Do they spend the rest of the series in denial about their feelings for each other or do they get it together sooner? I read somewhere else that he ends up going to Hawaii to tell her his feelings so that makes me think that they drag it out quite a while.

Also, does anyone know the name of the actor who plays Roberto-san? I think he looks a lot like Mackenzie Astin, but I think Roberto-san is older http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hc&id=1800021398&cf=gen&intl=us. I saw Mackenzie Astin in How to Deal recently and at first I was sure it was the same actor.

Yes, things get awkward between Sakura and Katsuragi for quite a few episodes. They never talk about what happened til quite a bit later as Katsuragi starts to avoid her. Katsuragi then tells her that he hugged her as a "passing fancy" and didn't really know why he did it. ..which makes Sakura really mad.

Evidentually, Katsuragi and Sakura realize their feelings for each other. But Sakura is faced with decision to move back to Hawaii to help her father at new institute for Asian studies or stay in Hida for a extra year.
Sakura gets offered the position of chief researcher and her decision becomes even harder. Watching Katsuragi feel torn with his feelings for Sakura while at the same time not wanting to hold her back from a great opportunity is really sweet. I totally fall in love with Yukiyoshi Osawa in this series.

Apparently NHK's Sakura has done a lot of pissing people off as another member here had commented upon the rampant stereotyping in the show. I found it to be rather enjoyable regardless, if not terribly unrealistic.

Can someone actually give me a synopsis on how katsuragi and sakura met? I didnt see episodes 1-100 and so I've only seen clips of their meeting at the onsen. I have also seen this clip where Katsuragi is about to flash Sakura. When did that happen? And why are they on a winter trip together. Ive seen these series of clips from the next episode i believe. Her female family members are trying to get her to realize that she loves Katsuragi so they ask her to remember her first impression of him.

Shek, thanks for the spoilers on the end of the series. I can help you with the beginning since I have been watching it regularly. Sakura and Katsuragi met at school, in that dormitory where Katsuragi now lives. At first Sakura lived there also, and they were always fighting. They kind of bonded a little bit over the goldfish (from her grandfather in Tokyo) but that was the extent of it. Katsuragi was kind of mean to her at first. When she made contact with that family and she kind of invited herself to stay with them for a year (yeah, right!) she was kind of glad to move out.

I'm not quite sure what winter trip you're referring to, but earlier in the series Katsuragi asked Sakura to pose as his fiance and go with him on a trip to his hometown (which Sakura has planned to visit anyway due to an annual festival). He wanted an excuse to keep his mother from fixing him up with omaii (sp). It turned out really awkward because Katsuragi didn't tell his mother he was bringing a "fiance" home and she had an omaii waiting for him as he arrived, which turned out to be with an ex-girlfriend that Katsuragi still had feelings for. In spite of the surprise, his mother really loved Sakura and Sakura really liked her but felt really bad about lying to her like that. His mother gave Sakura some family heirlooms which brought Sakura to the point of insisting that Katsuragi tell her the truth. In the end Mom seemed disappointed and later tried to hint to her son that maybe there could be something real between them. That is about the point in the series when circumstances always seemed to be matching them up and it really seemed like they could be good together. Before this point in the series I didn't like Katsuragi very much because he always seemed cold and aloof. After this series you started to see more about what makes him tick when he talked about his old girlfriend and why they broke up, she got in some kind of accident and he couldn't protect her. I forget the details... anyway, hope this helps!

I agree with the previous poster, getting these episodes once a week is like torture! The series just drag on and on.... Do you know if what they broadcast is actually just one episode though? I heard that the original episodes are 15 minutes long, and they broadcast these morning dramas for approx half an hour. Sometimes it seems like maybe they took two episodes and spliced them together because you get a little recap halfway through...
