If you haven't seen these episodes I guess you could consider these spoilers. I'm trying to figure out what's going on with Kengo. In the episode that aired on 2/22, Chikako shows up at Kengo's apartment while Asami is there. And when Chikako walks in, Kengo pauses and then hugs Asami. Chikako then makes an excuse about leaving his key for hiem and then walks out. Why did Kengo do that? At this point I figure he WAS just using Chikako and doesn't really love her. And maybe he loves Asami, or is just using her too. Anyway, it appears that it's over between Chikako and Kengo. Now last night. Kengo wants Chikako to move in with him! Says he wants to be there for her. Tells Asami he loves Chikako and that she's his girlfriend. Yet he goes out dancing with Asami after she buys him that record and leaves Chikako behind. Is this really bad writting or is Kengo just an idiot? Are we supposed to buy into the fact that Asami is able to manipulate him, and hurt Chikako, because she's younger? I don't understand why Kengo's character seems so clueless. And are we supposed to believe that because Taku told Chikako that Kengo will just leave her once he understands that all she wants is to get married, and Chikako's comment about Kengo's weak appearance, that she's really over him? I love this show, but man...Kengo doesn't seem to make much sense. And FINALLY someone (Taku) told Chikako that the look of desperation to get married is her problem. I wish Shun had been the one to tell her straight out like that.

I didn't read it as "clueless." I don't think he's ever truly been in love before. So, he hugging Asami is his way of pulling an emergency lever in a situation where he's out of his comfort zone.

Make no mistake: "He-Who-Needs-A-Haircut" loves Chikako.

Did that explanation earn at least what Lucy normally charges (still five cents even in syndication, right)?

You should come check out our (hopefully . . . DONE) Younger Man (as it's called) discussion at the KIKU message board. We (well, I think, just me and . . . and tajiri) get into Cypress Hill even! (anybody see that part yet?)

I guess that makes some sense. Thanks. I registered on the KIKU site but almost screwed myself by reading the Younger Man thread. I guess this is airing on KIKU ahead of its airing here in L.A. because I started reading a synopsis from 2/28 or so and it was about the LAST episode of the show! I almost read too far - but the little I picked up shouldn't ruin it for me. See you at KIKU!

it kinda sucked that i missed the ending.. i was at my friends house and i remembered it was on so i eneded up watching the last 5 mins of the show on a small 9inch black&white TV with almost no sound... damn twenty year olds and their parties....

This was such a weird show! I'm not an Izumi Inamori fan so I couldn't get to like her character. But still...... the whole mom thing.......... The only character I really enjoyed watching was Azusa. She was soooo evil.
