Actually it's the same for cash too. If you make a deposit over $5000, they'll freeze it or will ask questions. You may end up in the manager's office, if you look suspicious or have a big amount. It's a security layer to prevent money laundering.

Unless it's a certified check, you won't be able to touch the money for a week or two. Even if you go to the counter, it's the same thing. Especially if you give the clerk $50K in $20 in a brown paper bag. hehe

i went into a bank w/ my ex long time ago w/ their restaurants monthly deposit. it took almost half an hour to count out $200k in cash. Sweat
Of course, this was a commercial (taiwanese) bank and they're used to having large amounts of cash come in. but that's how they laundered their money to dodge taxes here. The account is in the name of an uncle who lives in taiwan. I dunno if they still do it, if i knew i'd turn them into the IRS for the % reward.

So, this guy at work was in a car accident awhile back. The other day he got the check from the insurance company. It was a fairly sizable check (over $20k he said) and since the bank was already closed, he didn't want to leaveit around the house overnight so he deposited it thru the ATM. Yesterday, he got a letter from B of A telling him the funds were all hold because the deposit was over $5,000. Let me see if I have this straight, , , the money is on hold
BECAUSE HE DEPOSITED TOO MUCH!!!! Head Scratch Bonk Crazy

rofl You know, I didn't even know you could deposit this much cash at an ATM! ashamed

it's a sunday. i did a simulation test today. from 8 in the morning until 12.00 . i missed the lunch, the instructors were so unfriendly, and i was in a hurry to do the second simulation test from 14.00-17.00.

in the afternoon i called my friend to ask the results. and... there was something wrong (hell knows what, but i haven't asked since my friend only told me the results) so the result for the 1st simulation didn't come out!!!

    WTF!!

what a waste of four lovely sunday hours and Rp15.000! Tired

People who type using tiny fonts... If you don't want people to read it, don't type it in the first place.

Admittedly, I've done it once or twice for effect, but most of the time when people do it, I don't bother to even read it.

It's like those people who type with alternating lower and uppercase fonts... Really obnoxious.

Neither do I. But I've done it recently... for the first time I think. Usually I use spoiler tags. It's easier. Beaten
