Was the movie better than the dorama?
The 1995 movie? The general consensus is that it was horrible. I saw the first few minutes of it about a year ago. I have also seen screenshots of the whole thing. Doumyouji is supposedly rich yet he spends most of the film with just a vest on and no shirt. Also Rui and Makino have the same hairstyle for some reason.

the movie is not really that bad, it's campy and the humor is very anime-ish. it's comparable to TV Tokyo's midnight manga adaptation dramas. they choose the right actress to play Makino, Uchida Yuki, who was a top idol when this movie was shown. she is Shun's fave actress and she co-starred with Jun in Bambino. here are some screenshots of the characters in the movie.
Domyoji(Tanihara Shosukem still a famous actor, his recent dramas Edison no Haha, Mop Girl, Yama Onna Kabe Onna etc)
Rui(of course, Fujiki Naohito)
Makino(Uchida Yuki)
trivia: Tanihara and Fujiki are still close friends and they last worked together on the 2006 drama Kobayakawa Nobuki no Koi.
