The caption at the bottom says:"Sutoruto ni kimochi warui" Roughly translated: "It feels bad to be straight" But something tells me this guy never had a lot of girlfriends to begin with.
yeah, i heard the finger printing is done digitally, and knowing how efficient the japanese are, yeah...i think you're right.
getting lost in the train station areas etc, (just think Shinjuku station) now that will be a challenge, but i usually find my way around or just ask people for directions in my limited Japanese.
trying to get things ready, more packing, planning....

I might see you at the airport then. I'm flying back on the 30th. I will run inside Narita's terminal and yell your name.
If not, then maybe someone around... Good luck btw.

If you want geeky, I have a Suica card issued by JR, Tokyo Monorail, and Rinkai lines. (three different colors). I want to get the Pasmo next time I'm there. I also have an Edy (digital money) card from Circle K and the USB reader to get the balances from said cards.
Cool thank you. I'll grab a suica. I wasn't too sure what was the difference between them. I thought they were basically the same. I have to travel outside Tokyo for half the time, so Plasmo will be no good, if it's not recognized.

Thank you again.
Sure thing. But if you have a Japan Rail Pass AND you are traveling on JR, use that instead.

I don't have one. The only office in Canada to get a paper is in Vancouver, on the west coast. The closest is at JFK, but I don't go near it. I thought I could buy one in Japan. I didn't know you needed a card before entering. Now it's too late. Oh well.
I don't have to travel very far. Considering there are people doing the same every day to go to work, it might be cheaper than the $300 a week for the JR pass. _________________

How far are you traveling? If it's anywhere like Kyoto or Osaka, the rail pass is worth the money. Shinkansen fares for places beyond Shin-Yokohama is very pricey.
The Vancouver office should be able to mail you the exchange voucher in a couple of days.
This monday starts my exchange program! X3!...In 17th I go by AA to USA and here I change airplane (?). I arrive in Japan in 19th (o_oU)...I will return in January 31st...
A few days ago, I call my japanese family for the first time. It was very difficult to speak with them, because my english and my japanese are very bad, and their english was bad too XD, but it was funny. Hope they will be able to understand my mimics when I arrive X3!
Ah! A question (owo)...What is the most used way of travelling between Hokkaido and Honshuu? (o.o?) That's all X3
*Getting all things ready*
Waa...I'm so happy ...
Well, thank you all for the info that you gave me ...Byeee! _________________

i figure that i get a 7 day rail pass when i need it most for Tokyo-Kyoto-Tokyo. And then get a Suica/Pasmo card for the remaining time spent in Tokyo area.
I am still trying to figure if the Suica or Pasmo would benefit me most. Are they good on both the subway and JR train lines?
I know that JR-railpass, is good for only JR-trains, thus the name implies so, and i finally figured it out during my first trip, lol.

Within Tokyo, both the Pasmo and Suica are interchangeable and good on most subways and JR lines. I say most since there are a handful of lines where the card is not good. Not many though.
In other sad news, the exchange rate is the worst I've seen it in years. It's currently $1 = Y100. Sucky dollar.

Blame your boy, Bush....and this country's inability and inadeptitude in trying to form an energy policy that doesn't put money into his family's pockets.
As long as the price of crude keeps rising, the dollar will keep falling...Petrodollar economics, man.

It's going to get worse. With the falling dollar, the price of crude goes up. As crude goes up, the dollar falls.
And I thought I heard on the radio that Bush says the dollar is still strong. What world is he living in? The dollar is pretty bad against the Yen, the Euro... I haven't checked the Canadian dollar.
Thank goodness I decided to save some yen from the last trip.

He is the dork of all dorks...I heard him talking about the economy on the PBS show The Lehrer Newshour....he is, as you say, clueless. Man, not only is the dollar falling but the energy price increase must mean things in Japan are also getting more expensive....so that's a double whammy for American tourists in Kabuki-cho.
