The Nodame Orchestra performed a couple of concerts in Feb & March 2007. The following is a link to the DVD recording of excerpts from these concerts.

I particularly loved tha Mozart piano sonata for 2 pianos - seeing it in action makes me appreciate Chiaki's predicament (of having to pair up with Nodame) more.

I can't seem to download the file. I've tried a few times since yesterday, and it always says bandwidth exceeded.

Could you try again at different times of day? I have already made this into a hot link so there shouldn't be any region-specific restrictions.

Somewhat embarassingly, I find myself in the same boat. I watched the entire anime series, the special episodes, and the drama within 5 days. I don't think I've ever gotten through anything that fast. I removed it from my computer because I really didn't want to watch it again (afraid of addiction!) What a special series. Nodame is so amazingly cute in her facial expressions... it's unfair ;-)

Hehe.. don't worry too much - I backed it up to DVD first. It's a love I'll come back to at some point.. but I am an 'adult' - have to be reasonable and all that - honestly, watching it over and over again seems like a form of compulsive masturbation - all things in moderation.

I'm watching GTO's drama right now (I haven't seen it in a few years) and I'll be watching the Honey and Clover one too.

Oh, and Juri is probably already one of my first celebrity crushes (this from a 28 year old attorney...) - no one is immune ;-) - though actually Chiaki was pretty amazing too - his features always seemed so genuine and real. I am very impressed!

LOL.

If that's the case, then I'm not "Master of My Domain" : I've watch this drama almost a dozen times since it's release. Beaten

Total agreement there... She's terrific.

Decent article.. but it really focuses on her attractiveness, which I think is a mistake. She captures attention with her quirkiness. She's not a fantastic actress - she's good, for sure, but I think Chiaki's actor is better in the show. It's her peculiarities which sell her - her quirks and eccentricities. Her cute mannerisms and vocal style. And the character is fearless yet fearful in the same breath. She's so diverse and expected, again while unexpected. It's real as much as it is fake. She's over-the-top but is convincingly genuine.

She's a fantastic voice actress - something tells me if she hasn't gone into that field yet, she should.

The article does initially, but it really focuses on how her performance won this person over, despite his preconceived notion of her from her performance in Engine...

Have you seen any of her other dramas/films?

She's only done one film as a voice actress... A Japanese dub of an American animated film: Hoodwinked: http://little-red.net/

No, I haven't seen any of her other stuff yet. I will probably seek out stuff by both her and Tamaki Hiroshi in the future, though. I had a several year anime hiatus and I'm just getting back into it and only watched the drama on a whim (but got totally hooked in!) I've heard that Engine and Swing Girls are both good things she's done - I'll be sure to check them out!
