wonder how long the battery lasts on the 30gb ipod. I have my eye on that one, and i am interested in getting it, probably eventually.
watch j-dramas, while during cardio? yea, much better than watching what they have on the televisions.

Thats pretty cool. I might pick one up. I was just wondering is it also possible to put episodes on an psp? I figure if you get a 1gb mem card you could put two eps in. But thats just a thought. Thanks for any info though.

This ipod stuff is really getting out of control eh?
I never really had much of an interest in them but now, I see them everywhere.

To you ipod fanatics out there, is it that much of a good 'investment'? 'regular' and video ipods
(I know I will get some bias answers so please try to keep it as neutral as possible)

Thank you

I have a PSP and a 3rd Generation 40 GB iPod.

I'm not sure I'd watch movies on my iPod. It's too small and square, but it's great for music.

The PSP's screen is nice (widescreen) and bigger. The downside is the capacity, it comes with a 1GB memory card. You can get a 4GB hard drive for 200$. It's good for games and movies, but it's too big for music for it's capacity IMHO.
When I bought it, I thought, I'll never watch movies on that thing. I watched Spiderman 2, because it came with it and I would watch movies on it again. You totally forget the screen is small.
The problem is the UMD movies are too expensive. It's the same price as the DVD. Crazy

As for the battery life, the PSP is about 5 ~ 6 hours of gaming. I'm not sure about the video length, but I think the iPod last longer.

If it's for mostly for music and don't want to play games, go with the iPod.
I've heard the nano gets scrach easily. Puppy Dog Eyes

I only know 1 program (and it's free): Videora iPod Converter. http://www.videora.com/
It takes AVI, MPEG, Quicktime, WMV and convert them to iPod format. I never tried it, 'cause I don't have an iPod Video. Sad

hmmm, how much does the video Ipod 30gb go for ??
how long is the battery life? about $300 right? watching j-dramas on that small screen might suck compared to a nice LCD 19", but on the go, could be a nice thing, could hold atleast a few series in that thing plus you pix and music... Bonk

The 30GB is $299 and the 60GB is $399. There's a review of the 60GB one on iPod Lounge here . I bought the biggest one at the time, because for $150 more it had all the assesories and 2 times the hard drive space. Smile It would have cost me $300 to buy them separately.

Here's what they say about the battery life.
Apple similarly claims that the new 60GB iPod will play music for 20 hours, photo and music slideshows for 4 hours, and video for 3 hours. In our tests, it missed the music claim by 10 minutes, playing for 19 hours, 50 minutes, but exceeded Apple's photo and video claims, playing a music photo slideshow for 4 hours, 47 minutes, iPod-screen video for 3 hours, 23 minutes, and on-TV video for a hefty 5 hours and 24 minutes.

It might be similar for the 30GB version.

One of the must have accessories, is the iTrip (or something similar). It plays music on the FM band, so you can listen to it in the car. The sound quality is great.
