Comments on those films you've seen?
I'm planning on watching the two new ones I downloaded this weekend (since I've been working somewhat more than expected - I haven't had much time!) _________________

Well Swing Girls was just a fun movie to watch, with the antics of the girls trying to get the band going, and the music was nice as well. Hard to fault it really, other than it just played it safe. Not a great movie honestly, but simply an enjoyable one.
Summertime Machine Blues took me a while to finish, and I actually had to go back a few times just to make sure I was following the darn movie correctly. I found it a bit boring from the start, but it eventually connects. Juri-chan is quite the hottie in this one
The Turtle movie I've seen once in its entirety, but it's one I'm not too eager to go back and actually try to figure out the story. Juri-chan as a spy, with that wicked laugh everytime she opens the fridge to look at the money, was ok, but nothing that really got my attention.
Josee was a nice movie, though heartbreaking at times. To think Juri-chan did this movie before Swing Girls, it's nice to see how she can adapt to a more serious role. That kissing scene was steaming hot, and she really came off as a mean-spirited person, especially during the slapping scene and being jealous that a disabled girl could actually take her boyfriend away. Maybe Swing Girls was her breakout movie, but she showed she could act in Josee.

The plot's not new by any means and it's no Citizen Kane, but it rousingly fun and enthusiastic... And totally re-watchable.

I think it confounds everyone at the beginning, but it completely rewards you for your patience... Not that big a role for Juri-chan, but one of her many pairings with Eita (lucky stiff).

Yet another quirky movie with many familiar faces (the guy who was one of the supposed spy leaders was Juri-chan's dad in Nodame)... It was only so-so, but still better than Warau Mikaeru

I felt numb after this movie... I felt indifferent to all the characters.
If you haven't yet, you should see Tsubasa no Oreta Tenshitachi, Part 4... Juri-chan is really bitchy and selfish in this show.

I can hear Holst's Jupiter...
So I take it you watched the movie... Thoughts?
Please take out Chapter 6: The Girlfriend should there ever be an edited version. Thank you in advance.

A sad movie obviously, but that's pretty much a given from the start. While it was nice to see the friendship between Tomoya and Aoi develop throughout the course of the film, it's still a bit strange Aoi would actually befriend someone who came as an annoying stalker in the beginning. There were some qualities about Tomoya that Aoi fond endearing, something she mentioned in the letter she wrote, originally intended for Kyoto. Tomoya had his chances though, but either tried to brush it off (while talking to Kyoto about Aoi), or was too reluctant (raise your hand!! you can't let a pretty girl like Aoi hanging on stage like that!).

Yeah, it was awkward and upset the entire tone of the movie... The director needs to explain himself.

I think the director was successful in manipulating us: throughout the entire film, I kept hoping and wishing they would hook up and there were many opportunities to do so, yet it never happened... Just sad and heartbreaking to witness...

I can understand where the director was trying to get to, I think, with Tomoya in a relationship that clearly didn't work out and finding himself thinking about Aoi once again, the one he should've been with. Tomoya's girlfriend and her family were just too strange, which took the movie off course for a bit. I'm not sure if there was supposed to be some comedic elements, or some statement about a possible stigma of dating older women or divorced women for that matter, but either way it really could've been done better.
