Kyozo Nagatsuka was one of the main reasons I tried so hard to stick with the Lollipop Taiga.

But there was just too much pouting and stomping of the princess's dainty little foot. Once Kyozo grabbed his chest and went deathly pale I knew I was done with that bit'o'bubblegum.

I finished epi 6 of Medaka.

What I'm really enjoying about this drama are the varied stories. Unlike GTO and Gukusen, and even Dragon Zakura, where the plot for each episode is the exact same (cookie-cut, if you will), this drama has for more depth and element of invention.

I also enjoy how the episodes are interwoven, instead of one epi being about one character, and them moving to the next character for the next episode.

I'm not blown away by this drama. It's really just average for me, but I'm enjoying it so far!

On to Episode 7 of Medaka now. Victory! Peace!

I think it's time for Ep. 6 of Last Friends... and after that, maybe I'll start on Last Christmas.

Finished Medaka!

My Review: 9/10

What a surprisingly grand drama! I think Ifve seen many of the top hitter school dramas, and after watching even two of them, one quickly gets tired of the theme. The story is always the same. Teacher enters classroom. Classroom contains difficult students. Teacher goes above and beyond his/her job to gcareh for the students. Students heal and become wonderful human beings. Teacher and students cry at departure in the last scene of the last episode.

Of course, this drama follows that exact same story structurec but itfs still grand! Older students enrolled in night school replace the gregularh band of high school students. I truly believe this made all the difference for me. The issues and situations the students face are on a level I can understand. They deal with the basic needs of survival in a realistic world.

Mimura surprised me in this drama. Before I had only seen her in Ima ai ni Yukimasu and I thought she was brilliant. In Medaka she plays a completely different role, but I thought she did a great job. She was convincing and although I thought her smile was annoying at times, this same smile made ME smile numerous times throughout the show. Harada Taizo, whom Ifve had a crush on since Bewitched, was good, but my attention flew constantly towards Eita. All the supporting cast (especially Shigeru-san and perhaps not Meisa-chan so much) were great and appropriately cast.

This is a feel-good drama and Ifm glad I watched it. It inspired me to be a little more helpful in my own classroom.

On Topic: I finally finished downloading epi 4 of Last Friends, so I'm gonna continue with that now. Victory! Peace!

Glad you liked it Sensei! And yes, Eita was a surprise for me. This was the first time I saw as more of an adult and not so much a kid. The one thing that bothered me was:

Just finished Koi no Chikara. http://jdorama.com/drama.674.htm

Even though there was no great surprise and the story was rather predictable, this was very enjoyable. It did not feel formulaic to me. There were substance and seriousness amidst the fun and games, and the performances were very good. Fukatsu Eri was particularly special, she was simply adorable, and totally brought her character to life. The character played by Yada Akiko was a bit one-dimensional/unecessary, and the final twist was a bit far-fetched, but still, a good choice for those looking for a light workplace romance.

LOL! Yea, but you know, you never see her in a car/bus/train either. The girl WALKED everywhere, so I'm sure she burned the calories. Wink

I'm going to be starting Otousan next. My brother tells me it's very similar to Oyaji...

I was just shocked at HOW MUCH she smiled. I mean, you never saw her teeth in Ima. lol

I did enjoy Oyaji, so if Otousan is also enjoyable, then it should be alright. I mean, I hated Attack No. 1 because I saw it after Ace wa Nerae and they were exactly the same... but then, I didn't fully enjoy Ace wa Nerae to begin with so that was prolly why.

I just finished watching the fourth episode of Last Friends. Tired
