This doesn't bode well...
Again... I'll be patient - the series repeatedly includes things that are worth seeing, even if it hasn't come together as well as we might have hoped. Who knows... it could get better <wishful thinking>
I like the cast too much to even think about stopping in the middle anyways, so we might as well make it something we can talk about here - it does bring up some really interesting cross-cultural discussions as well as issues whcih are just perfect for forum discussion.
On Phlargo's efficiency curve evalution: Some fantastic movies have terrible plots. Some movies with fantastic plots are absolutely worthless. Sometimes a single scene can make an entire viewing worthwhile.
If I didn't have any other reasons <wink wink> I'd probably be content watching this show just for the voices - Juri, Eita, Asami, and Masami all have great voices. I wish I could say I liked Ryou's voice.. but it just feels generic. I definitely will need to see him in something else to give him a fair shake. _________________

I suspect this is the case - why else would the number of eps change like that... I sure hope they don't screw it up too badly.
It could very well have been an accident, like they want to shoot a SP (as very many dramas do), changed their minds then thought about adding another episode instead but jumped the gun on that, so they had to fall back on a SP; it could also be the actors/actresses not having a contract for 12 episodes. I don't think of it as a bad thing, just something that's happening behind the scenes that we may never know the details of. Don't lose hope!
And yeah, the actors and actresses are reason enough to keep watching. All of them wouldn't have signed on for such a crappy show, right?

I wasn't really fond of episode six. Back before the drama started, I always thought that Sousuke's behavior wouldn't have to meddle that much in the series. I'm seriously starting to hate all the Michiru ~ Sousuke thing. We need to move on with the drama, a new twist please!
I also want to know more about Ruka's story, and Takeru's confession did not come in the right timing! The voices in my head were like, " No! let her first speak!"
I'm hoping for an interesting next episode, preferably about the characters of the share house, and Sousuke, stay away for a change.

You'd think someone would report him to the authorities... I think this is one of the few things about this drama that are really fake.
In real life, that dude would be in jail.
I don't know. There are quite a few abusers out there who are not reported. One girl my friend met had an abusive husband and all her friends knew about it but no one reported it. Eventually the girl got out and filed for divorce but no one ever said anything to the police. My friend wanted to but had no proof. _________________

Hmm.
In those matters, it's just "he said, she said," I suppose... But I'd think if you reported it, the police would investigate at least... That way, the abuser knows he's not just getting away with it.

Well, only if he was reported.. and maybe only here. Remember, Japan has that long history of female submission that still lingers on among some. I don't know for certain, but sometimes such a mentality permits a wider range of what is percieved as acceptable treatment.

Notice how the married guy (I don't remember his name) had a second where he thought it was kinda cool that she would stay with him. As creepy as that sounds to us, I suspect it's a response to the submissive history.

Japanese woman jailed for sawing up husband
Posted: 28 April 2008 1529 hrs
TOKYO : A court on Monday sentenced a Japanese woman to 15 years in prison for beating her husband to death, sawing up his body and dumping the parts across Tokyo in retaliation for domestic violence.
The Tokyo District Court ruled Kaori Mihashi, 33, had murdered her husband, Yusuke Mihashi, a 30-year-old employee of a foreign-affiliated brokerage firm, by clubbing him in the head with a wine bottle while he was sleeping.
She then sawed his body into five pieces, the court said.
"Even though she was feeling desperate in her hellish married life, the crime was cruel," presiding judge Masaya Kawamoto said, as quoted by public broadcaster NHK.
The court rejected testimony by psychiatrists that she had become mentally ill from the effects of her husband's violence, saying that she was mentally fit enough to attempt to cover up the crime.
The prosecution had sought 20 years in prison.
The crime emerged after passers-by found the man's unclothed torso and the lower half of his body in different public places in central Tokyo in December 2006.
She was arrested a month later. Based on her testimony, the police located Mihashi's head in a Tokyo park.
The couple had been married for three and a half years.
The Tokyo Shimbun reported she had earlier told the court she "dreaded" her husband as even trivial matters could trigger his violence.
Her husband suspected she was having an affair and would sniff her from head to toe when she returned home, the newspaper quoted her as saying.
He made her snap pictures of her surroundings with her cellphone and send them to him when she went outside, it said. She would also let her husband hear the sound of her hair dryer when she was at a sports gym and submit receipts from restaurants she visited, according to the newspaper.

It's a sad story. Here, I know we have something called battered person syndrome that many states recognize. It's not a total defense, but it can be a decisive factor in sentencing or picking the crime
Hmm.. maybe Michiru saws up Sousuke. Thats's why there's so much discussion about the 12th ep. They aren't sure they want to show her actually cutting the limbs off Ryou. _________________
