I screamed when the camera panned away from Takeru and Michiru at the end -- I KNEW they had Ruka leave her cell phone there for a reason. Argh!!! I know she's being distant to them so she's bringing it upon herself, but I just want to shake her and tell her to spill her heart out to at least Michiru! And I'm not talking about a love confession; I want her to tell her about the sexual identity troubles so she'll have a confidante.

Talk about an OBVIOUS plot cliche... Oh man.
Dang, Takeru got BEAT DOWN emotionally in this episode... I couldn't help but feel for that guy... And his timing for wanting to talk to Ruka was just awful: the beginning of the episode and near the end.... Poor guy.
Looks like Ruka's situation is sorta coming to a head, no thanks to that nutjob, Sosuke... His story is still thin: his befriending and saving that little boy from the train doesn't buy much sympathy or justify any of his past actions... His still one big cliche.
Running out of episodes... And lotsa unanswered questions.
That being said, yes, Takeru has horrible timing. Everyone and their mothers have horrible timing in this show.

I figured it would be Sousuke to put Ruka's troubles out there... it's cliché and irritating, but Ueno Juri broke my heart so badly (or awesomely?) that I can forgive his cliché character at this point.
The beautiful, warming filter they used on Takeru's flashbacks made the incest-ness even creepier...
And I'm glad that they showed two faces of Michiru: Her trying to become strong for people around her and then the weakness she feels late at night after remembering the good things with Sousuke.
That being said, yes, Takeru has horrible timing. Everyone and their mothers have horrible timing in this show.
You ain't kidding... The show should be renamed Bad Timing.

As crushing as it was, you couldn't possibly expect Ruka to do an about face, ne?
I think just about everyone wanted Ruka to practically leap into Takeru's arms, but there was no way it was gonna happen...

It seems pretty evident that Takeru was an incest victim, yet the writer/director is dancing around this topic as well with those soft-focus flashbacks and rather exploitative close-ups... At least that's what I thought the intent was...
I prefer hardsubs over soft subs any day, but if the soft subs are available at a faster speed, which they are in my case, I don't mind switching. _________________

Haha.. as for me, I too am quite satisifed with doing it myself. (edit - this was dirtier than I meant it to be: I just meant that I've been happy by myself for two years now)
