These Japanese fans are really nuts.
I was suprised that Beckham got so little numbers compared to this Korean guy and the Harry Potter guy.
I thought those Japanese chicks were all into Beckham. (Unless his fame is dying down in Japan now, or something) _________________

i've also heard that choi ji woo is quite popular also because of winter sonata.
there was a travel agency that had a package like "winter sonata travel package" where you can meet choi ji woo, but this was all done without choi ji woo's knowledge and fans were taken to the Stairway to heaven location, and were only able to see choi ji woo from afar.
bae yong jun has also traveled to singapore (i think), and was mobbed by fans at the airport also.
its great to see that japan is opening up to other asian actors/actresses.

I was a bit surprised he had more fans waiting for him at the airport than Beckham as well, but I think its the first time "Yon-sama" has visited Japan where as Beckham has come before. Plus Beckham is married, so that might have something to do with fan numbers.
Another thing possible factor is "Yon-sama's" fans seem to have a pretty wide age range. One of the announcers for Toku da ne was at the airport for "Yon"'s arrival, and she said the fans were all female fans, some in their teens, twenties, thirties, forties, and fifties. I doubt the Harry Potter dude was getting that wide an age range of fans. It also sounds like "Winter Sonata" has a large appeal to the baby boomer generation as the drama apparently reminds Japanese viewers of old J-dramas from the 70s, so it has a nostalgic feel.

I love how the one pic says "Haneda kuukou dai panikku!!" I would have thought he'd come in at Narita, but I think there would be even more dai panikku if he went there, LOL.
