Watched Ep. 6 of Koi ni Ochitara last night.. it got a little darker and a little more reflexive. It's quickly becoming one of my favorites. _________________

Kita no Kuni Kara is coming up quickly on my Watch List. My Watch List right now is:
- 101st Proposals (currently watching)
- Haken no Hinkaku
- Shomuni 1-3
- Love Complex
- Bara no na Hanaya
- Over Time
- Kita no Kuni Kara
- etc.
I should be able to get to it in two weeks, which is perfect because my students will be in exams by then and I'll be able to watch it through without having to work.

If you want a radical change try Haru To Natsu. You will not believe the totally different role of Shibata san. Fumiya kun also has a small part in it.
This is the one with Ryoko-san, right? >>adds to watch list<<

Hang in there...it gets better...although I can't imagine that you can't imagine how this is going to end!
The character of Kaoru is really starting to turn me off of this drama, which is a shame because I like Asano Atsuko. I really need to watch a drama in which Asano doesn't play a selfish, confused, character with a tragic background. Asano also looks severely thin in this drama (did she ever suffer from anorexia?) and every time she's on screen I feel like shoving french fries with gravy down her throat.

Yup. Ryoko AND Yukie Nakama. Pretty interesting combination.
And to each his own, but when I watched Shomuni I took a break between each one watching something else. They seemed fresher to me that way. Just a suggestion.

Mebbe I'll do that as well. I remember watching all three Tricks back to back and thinking at the time that it might have been better if I had taken a break...
I'm on the last episode of 101 proposals. Finally. _________________

True say as you would say and you will see a Ryoko san as you never saw her before except maybe as in the family thing. Very intense. The entire cast superb acting.

I've only seen a couple of her dramas and she's managed to annoy me in both of them. I think I should try watching the other dramas that I have of hers. Hopefully she won't annoy me in them.
On topic: 6th or 7th episode of Koukou Kyoushi. This is such a bleak drama, but I like it. Sort of. I wonder how it's going to end... _________________
when it occured to me that Kyoko Fukada would have been better suited to play the part that Yuki Nakama plays in this show.
With that idea floating around in my head I wonder how long it will be before I force myself to put the disc back in the machine and watch the final episode. _________________

Having watched her in half-a-dozen series and movies, I think her most likeable role is in Good Mourning (1994). While she doesn't escape the tragic background and bouts of confusion, they are dealt with in a more comic manner making her character more sympathetic and warm to the audience.
She also had a more light-hearted, ingenue-type supporting role in the Abunai Deka movies and TV series. They were made when she was I think in her early to mid-20's. Absence of angst there.

I also thought she might be anorexic as well. She wouldn't be the first Japanese actress to suffer from that illness (Rie Miyazawa is probably the most famous example).
In the series Maria which she made 10 years after 101st Proposal, she looked much healthier--slender but no longer having those toothpick-thin arms.

I have Good Mourning, so I'll put it on my watch list. I think she's a grand actress, but she's played these roles (in the two dramas I've seen her in) that are unattractive to me in every way. I'm more than willing to see her in something more likable.

She seemed much healthier in Love & Eros as well. I glad that she made it through it. Anorexia is a nasty thing.
On Topic: Haken no Hinkaku epi 3. I'm really enjoying this drama so far! It's sorta childish, but I like it. _________________

Finished Saito-san, Daisuki! and Koibito yo...very, very good... all of them...
particularly, Daisuki!...This was a monumental performance by Karina...such an utter and total contrast to any other role you've seen her in, and she nailed it...as I've noted elsewhere, she won two best actress awards for this role and they're richly deserved!...
Daisuki! is highly recommended!!!! _________________
