Episode 8 was really good. I think I was crying all throughout it.

After Ruka, now Takeru?! Sousuke's a SCUM! Psycho! Freak! Stalker! He should die! It seems a Ruka/Takeru pairing is possible after all that confession between them. Hmm.. but thinking about it carefully, I also don't think Ruka can easily forget about her feelings for Michiru and move on with Takeru. I still think that she loves her very much. Too much. I think she's distancing herself from her because she might fall deeper for her(with a thought in mind that no matter how close they are, no matter how hard she take care of her, no matter how much she loves her, she would never feel the same way) and that it would be very painful. Well, that's just my view. As for Eri, she was really cool when she pays a visit to Sousuke. "I don't like men like you!"
Before, I want this and that to happen but now, I'm more like "go-with-flow". Wish everyone gets a happy ending. _________________

Well, if not for everyone, at least for RUKA!!! I want a happy ending for her! I don't care if it's with Takeru, Michiru or anyone else. A happy ending for RUKA is all I wish! _________________

Not a dream... No deus ex machina crap.. I just suspect that the prologue occurs before the final scene in the drama.
If it's what you suspects, and if you're implying "the final scene" as the last scene of the last episode(crap! am i making any sense?!),then an extra episode might come in handy. If that betrayal was really that heavy that Ruka wouldn't see her, then they couldn't possibly make a happy ending with just them meeting in the ending and Ruka saying, "I've forgiven you a long time ago.." And after that a reunion with the share house. Oh, the one who died is Sousuke by the way! That's just sappy but.. hmm.. actually, it was ok. As long as Sousuke's dead. Or, the ending will be the intro of the drama. Now, that's bad! Michiru just retold all that happen in the past. There's no resolution!
I want a good ending. It's ok if it's not happy! Good is ok! _________________

You're probably right.
I finally catched up and watched episodes 6 to 8 and I like regained interest

Less focus on DV and more character development. I am really warming up to Eita's performance and I loved the Ruka/Takeru scene. Everbody craves to be liked for what they are by at least one person in the world.

LOL, sounds like something I would say... But yeah, I agree.

don't know if everybody else have known about this..just surfed at d-wiki and it was indicated in there that the series actually has a special spin-off movie centered around Eri titled "Eri - my Love" aired on FujiTV On Demand usually after each episode is being aired.. anybody have seen it yet??
and also, im deeply intrigued on a certain video comment at crunchyroll saying that the series will be having a SP and it's not even a long time before it will be aired, June 26.. it was said to be confirmed by Masami-chan's agency, TOHO ent.. _________________

LOL, I guess that means she's not the one to die.

Maybe that's the mysterious Episode 12, now renamed SP...
The story of the writing/taping of this drama is getting more intriguing than the drama itself.

As long as this doesn't turn into professional wrestling and these actors suddenly are having their entire stories rewritten based on popularity of certain ideas...oh wait.
I'd have to agree though, while the show itself has got some serious writing issues, it still does spark good conversation, which is probably why it's doing as well as it is (not to mention the actors and actresses are doing the best with the mediocre script that they can). Ah well, we're just sucked into it either way!

I think all the buzz/hype revolves around the rather provocative girl-girl romance and the ambiguous gender issues... If this drama were purely straight, it wouldn't be creating nearly as much chatter.
And if you read some of those posts at D-Addicts, it's chatter.

I dunno.. I think it has somewhat more to offer than that. It probably ups the hype quite a bit, but it's hardly been the reason to watch it.. there'd have to be tons more Juri/Masami makin' out for that to be the case ;-)
One thing it will not be remembered for is the soundtrack, even if the opening song is pretty decent. They play the same tense theme like 10 times a show! _________________

Yeah, I'm pretty engrossed with Last Friends too and it's not due to the girl-on-girl action but mainly because of all the angst in the characters. I'm a sucker for angst and unrequited longing. haha, and Juri really captures everyone's imagination playing a hot lesbian (genderqueer?). If it was some other actress playing Ruka, it might've turned me off, but Juri made me fall in love with her Ruka, being this very endearing mixture of strength and vulnerability. Her charm and cuteness is unparalleled....(hey, I'm a Juri fan, so what do you expect me to say?) Takeru is endearingly cute too, because he sees the beauty in Ruka and appreciates her like she should be. Michiru is blind, blind!! If I were her, I'd dumped Sousuke's ass in a minute and never let Ruka go!!
And I can't agree more about the overplayed themesong and creepy soundtrack they keep using over and over. It's just too repetitive and annoying. Geez, and I thought the Japanese were ahead of Kdramas in terms of background music for their dramas.

Ah yes, you're right: the drama is quite angsty and the unrequitedness is heavily infused throughout the drama...

After magicmusic's post and a little more reading, she's most likely genderqueer...
If anything, this drama has been rather educational and enlightening, along with its plot frustrations...

Agreed, she plays the role to perfection... Like Nodame, I can't imagine another actress in that role... She just makes it her own.

Again, I agree... This dramas soundtrack must consist of four or five tracks, two being Prisoner of Love and its instrumental version...
