Stopped at the second half of Part II of the special, somehow I like the series a lot more than the special although the special is greatly filmed and gives us some extra characters.

ROFL!! More like a dad telling his daughter to eat broccoli with Nodame and Chiaki's face on the broccoli telling me to eat it (finishing the eppie) xD!!
Yup I will. I didn't stop because I wanted to, it's just that I had to pause the eppie and go somewhere.

Considering how much you guys trash that show.. I might just have to watch a few eps
Yeah, I'm intrigued to see if it really is so horrendous, too.
I watched the "Behind The Scenes" thingy today. Very cute. But I noticed that from what was being said, this was shown on tv before the series. That's weird to me. I wouldn't want to see the actors talking about their characters, and lots of clips, before the series proper.
But it was very enjoyable for after the series. Seeing the guy who plays Stressman talking Japanese normally was funny.
And the showing of some of the comedy violence scenes being filmed (and the actors laughing hard) was hilarious.

Most J-dorama has an intro a couple of hours before the first episode is aired.

Outtakes are always a hoot.
Great caps, though they make it all the more frustrating that the Europe Special DVD did not have any NGs. I'm sure there were good cute Juri-chan moments to be had, but noooo, they want to keep it all for themselves.

Finished the specials and loved them! They did exactly what a special is suppose to do: keep the spirit of the series, but move it along. There's a different feeling than watching the series because it's the next step in the evolution of the story. It's not moving the plot backwards so they can save effort in maturing the characters. Just like the series, there's a sense of completion at the end, yet enough room so they can mature some more if they make another special, which I hope they do. Maybe we get to see more of kung-fu action Nodame.
You know it's a great series when you finish and you feel you'll miss the characters.....and get withdrawl shakes.

Sounds like a Nodame addict
Glad to hear that you enjoyed the series! I agree with you that the series and special gives you a sense of completion, yet there can be more. It's nice really, because if the series ends with the Europe Special, at least there's some sense of closure. Well, if you want to continue to the addiction, there is the Behind the Scenes video for the Europe Special. Not only that, there's the anime version you can check out as well and the manga that started it all.
You may have finished the live-action series, but there's still more Nodame Cantabile

I will agree.. there's a different flair with animed Nodame.. it's a different kind of experience. I think they did a great job of coming up with some new focus for the anime but still hanging onto some of the feeling from the drama/manga. _________________

Wow, I didn't know that *hides in shame at my ignorance*
I would never watch one before the series myself. It would spoil it a little, for me.

There are no subs for the behind the scenes video though
Oh...my disc has (soft) subs for the behind the scenes programme. The subs aren't perfect English, but pretty good.
I can try to copy/upload it for anyone who might like it.
