Mari Hamada is great  Have you seen Erai Tokoro ni Totsuide Shimatta? She's one of the best reasons to watch it

Nope haven't seen that one although it looks like its got a pretty good cast, Yukie, and two of my favorite character actors, Sei Hiraizumi (he's in everything!) and Youichi Nukumizu. Slightly off topic: Maybe we should have a contest to see who has more "hair -challenged" roles: Eita or Odagiri Joe.

"Obnoxious Hamada Mari"?? Aw, I think she's great. Have you seen Koi no Bakansu yet? She's obnoxious, but a hoot in that drama.

The last thing I saw her in before Unfair was Saitou san and something about her, everytime she opened her mouth I wanted to stick a pencil in her eye.

Like Nodame, the drama does intensify as it progresses... But it doesn't get heavy-handed.

I liked this drama a LOT!! Well written, great performances from Fumiyo Kohinata, Ryuhei Matsuda, Chiaki Kuriyama, and Katushisa Namase almost steals the show as the insurance investigator. It got horrible ratings which I don't understand at all.

I've just started Ashita no Kita Yoshio as well.
One episode in and I can't wait to get home tonight to watch ep 2.

And she's great also!! I can't recall a drama recently that had so many good performances, even Jun Kaname as Namase's NRB (not real bright) assistant, those two were a great team!! Edit: The sad part is Manami seems like the least interesting character. I dunno if that's because everybody else is so good or if she was not so good in this role.
