I just put up a little page about bookmarklets I use to chase down info on JDoramas.

http://vibius.i8.com/bm.html

Bookmarklets are little snippets of javascript you can install in your browser toolbar that let you do interesting things in your browser. The ones I illustrate allow you to do quick searches on text you select on any web page you are visiting. It makes it fun to explore, finding other pages, images, BT torrents, etc. See the <a href="http://www.bookmarklets.com/">bookmarklets website</a> for more explanation.

Do you know of any other sites with search engines that can be used to find stuff about JDoramas? If so, please mail me, and I'll put up a bookmarklet for that site. Thanks!

I'll probably put up a couple more for doing torrent searches on specific sites. I think Bunko's Morning Musume/Jpop site is a good candidate because it gets a fair amount of stuff. But if a site only has a few torrents (like 1 page), I'll probably skip it. Not much point, eh?

If you want to do a general search for drama related torrents, try downloadanime.org:

http://www.downloadanime.org/modules.php?entr=&name=Torrent_Search&find=all&show=100

Most of the results you'll see are anime, but this search engine has started scraping a number of the jdrama torrent sites, including JEM, FOB, nihon-tv, and a few others. So that's probably a better all-in-one solution for finding torrents.

Unfortunately, bookmarklets are limited and a single search can't do multiple sites like a real search engine can.

Okey dokey, I put up a bookmarklet for Bunko's site. It's a good place to get JPOP PVs, morning musume stuff, etc.

BTW, I highly recommend the PV for "m-flo loves boa - the love bug". It rocks.

If anyone is interested, I up some bookmarklets to translate the current web page you are browseing to English if it is in Japanese, Chinese, or Korean. So, like, it makes it a little bit easier to surf those drama sites from their native countries Smile

And also a couple handy ones to retrieve missing or older versions of a page.

I figured out how to make a bookmarlet send a form by the post method. That's cool. It means I can write a bookmarklet for any web form.

So I put up a bookmarklet that uses Breen's online Jdict translator, which will translate any current Japanese web page to English. It gives more detail on the translation than the Babelfish bookmarklet, so they complement each other.

Check em out:

Hmm, well, I just tried a few and they work for me. So they used to work for you and now none do? Weird.

One thing you can try is installing the bookmarklet (drag it to your toolbar) and then test it. Maybe your browser has some security setting for Javascript that is interfering.

Some of the bookmarklets use a trick I came up with to send POST content. I really have no idea if that trick will work with IE since I don't have IE to test with. (Although I don't know any reason why it wouldn't work).

Weird. But did you try installing one? That's really the way to use them. Just clicking on the links in the table is only good for trying them out before you install them.

But you can install and try them out that way too.
