And Ryo's name will be nowhere to be found or mentioned.

Maybe "Best Prop" award for the finest performance as an inanimate object. I forsee the "proper" awards will have the same outcome. They're "high class" popularity awards, like the Oscars. A shiny, polished turd is still a turd.

LOL, painfully true.
Let's just hope that there's some justice in the awards given out where there wasn't any in the drama...

My guess is that they looked away from the screen.

Sorry, I'd have to disagree, this award most assuredly should go to the finest set of cups showcased in a drama ever since the Hermes tea cups of Densha Otoko!

Sounds like a job for Phoenix Wright! Errr, no wait...even he couldn't save this show from the death penalty we would be facing!
"Last Friends, the voters have been weighed...and found wanting."

But that was a couple of years ago... 2008's stiff of the year is Ryo.

To each their own, I still think the coffee cups did a better job of progressing the plot and overall theme of the story.

But seriously, if you sit back and think about it the cups did have more symbolic meaning to the plot than Sousuke. More personality, too.

I can already imagine the awards ceremony:
Announcer: "And the award goes to........the inanimate Coffee Cup!"
Ryo: "Inanimate Coffee Cup?! I'll show you inanimate!" <stops moving>
Nikkansports: "Best Actor to Ryo!"

LOL.
If he didn't off himself in the drama, NikkanSports would've declared him Emperor.

Fangirl logic from D-Addicts:
--------------------------------------------------------------
the last three episodes of Last Friends were quite disappointing, but it doesn't make it the WORST j-drama ever....at least for me. i still love it much, and it will always be my BEST jdrama ever..
--------------------------------------------------------------
Wild guess: the total number of dramas seen by this person: ONE.

Lets cut her some slack here. With the bar set so low by Last Friends she won't have so much trouble finding dramas that are much better.
