You know better than anyone that hints like that don't go unnoticed on this thread.

As for singing like a canary...I was just tearing the band aid off as quickly as I could.

No problems. I just don't want people to think that these subs are gonna be ready by the end of the week.

I may not be accurate... but I'm slow.

As for d-addicts and their rules. I have no complaints. I only mentioned it because putting the soft subs up for download might be a problem. But that's a couple of bridges down the road.

As the old addage goes, "Better late than never." The fact it'd be actively worked on is more than enough for the vast majority of us, and if TimeLes decided for some odd reason to protest the posting of your softsubs, J-D wouldn't be the only group that would explode on them! Beaten hehe

Golden Bowl was grand, but Yasashii Jikan is in a class of its own. It's more like a work of art then anything else. Applaud

Regarding this issue with Mop Girl:

Although I believe each case should be evaluated separately, I think this rule at DA is there to prevent chaos from breaking out. The subbing group in this case has seemingly abandoned this project, but I would suspect that if you asked them if they would mind you taking up their project they may have objections. Looking at it from their point of view, they probably feel that this project is pending. But from the audience, more than enough time has passed to either update or make some progress, even if it's slow.

Allowing anyone to just take projects and create subs that they deem aren't being subbed fast enough is stepping on the toes of the subbers so it's sort of a delicate situation. IMO that's the spirit of this rule.

Nevertheless, I wish you guys good luck on finishing this and getting it out there in some way so the fans of Mop Girl can enjoy the remaining episodes.

And no, I have no affiliation to the subbing team in this case.

What I don't get is why a subbing group would just suddenly abandon a project like that... Head Scratch

I can understand one individual being sidetracked or whatever for various reasons, but a group?

A group shouldn't commit unless they're willing to see the entire project through, IMO.

Yes exactly. Applaud And if they ARE going to abandon a project, they should take responsibility for their actions and open the project up for others to take over.

They have no place subbing if they can't see it through. They belong in the same group as those bootleg DVD subbers out of Taiwan. More incentive for those to learn Nihongo imo. Victory! Peace!

The thing is, not only are they not active on subbing this series, but they ARE active on other shows since then. That, in of itself, makes anyone who would protest such a move by another group taking the reins as selfish, and goes against the whole idea of a community-based fansub. Don't want others to do the show? Do it your own damned self! Bleah

Anyways, back on topic: Tomorrow Episode 2 is good stuff. I don't know if it's going to replace Iryu as my favorite medical drama thus far (haven't seen many obviously), but it is definitely competing!

Good point.

That's like the group who was subbing Loss Time Life: they dropped it halfway through to sub Hokaben. Grumble

That's a bit harsh. They are un-paid volunteers afterall...

---

Just watched the Last Song episode 7.

The absurdness factor is creeping up, quite normal for a Shinji Nojima's drama.
It's good to be able to see Ikewaki Chizuru again, and I like the message this episode tried to put across, but not the story itself. It's thought-provoking, but I felt a little detached from the story. It sometimes felt like that the story is only a vehicle for putting across the writer's message. (I remember reading this online.) The beginning of this episode is lighthearted and fun, just like the previous episode.
There are a few subtle leads back to the main characters, instead of focusing on the "guest" characters.

Finished ep 2 of Muri no Renai. The drama itself is probably going to be fairly predictable, but it's a lot of fun watching these pros at work!! Applaud

The way Mr. Constipation/Ohanaya-san talks is just so slow and strained that he seems like he has constipation to me and I think Wyn thought the same too. hehe

To be honest, I didn't even catch what beem said, so you just ripped that bandaid off and spurted blood all over the place. hehe Oops, sorry for the gruesome imagery so early in the morning (or whatever time it is there).

On topic: Aibou 2 last night. Thank goodness it's being reaired since I didn't really catch that series till the end. Dancing

Hmm. Really? Okay, maybe I'll give it another shot after I finish fast forwarding through "Puzzle".

I don't like to give up on shows after only 3 episodes anyway.

Right then. I'll hike up the big boy pants and have a go.

I never saw the movie, and this was my first drama with Mimura. The story IS weird... but I thought the actors did a great job and I really felt something while watching.

I didn't see the movie either. And I like all the actors in the show. (Mimura was wonderful in both "Saito-San" and "Medaka")

But the story...

LOL! In that case, I think you'll definitely be disappointed in the end and you might as well shelf the show. rofl

It's a sad drama. Not as tear-jerking as some of the dramas out there, but sad nonetheless.

At first I thought you were assuming someone would take it up, so I was gonna post whether you had insider info on this, but then Geez cleared that up, so I changed my post.
