It's annoying, too, because you can't tell exactly what he's feeling. Whereas Mio's feelings are so obvious.

On Topic: Finished epi 6 of Over Time. Great stuff.

Episodes 8-10 of Galileo... Done.

I'd give this drama an 8/10.

I guess you get what you pay for. In this case "free". It just sucks for the viewers who rely on their service that get stranded halfway through the dorama. Perhaps they should start putting disclaimers at the beginning "Warning! We are not responsible any viewer hardship/anxiety/emotional stress due to unfinished subbing."

It's better than Last Friends: Entertaining and interesting, yet....

You'll have to watch it and judge for yourself, if you didn't read my spoiler.

Beem's a harder marker than others here Smile 8 would be a good score.

Thought I should share my own little scale here because 8 is a very high score! Seems we've got some divergent opinions about scoring here. I too gave it an 8. 8 means enjoyable and fun and worth watching. Good enough to recommend to any jdrama watcher.

1 would be absolutely terrible, no redeeming qualities
2 would be just awful, very little to offer
3 would be bad, no reason to recommend it to anyone
4 would be disappointing and not worth watching
5 would be average, probably not worth watching
6 would be pretty decent - probably wouldn't watch this of my own volition
7 would be quite good - recommended to people who are interested
8 would be highly recommended.
9 would be excellent - a rare treat
10 would be extraordinary - offers something amazing, stand out superb

On Topic: I'm taking a little break - I've got 1 Litre of Tears queued up on my notebook but don't see myself watching it immediately.

LOL, ratings are so subjective. Take Gokusen 2 for example... ratings from 1/10 to 10/10, depending on the person. Crazy

I was kind of luke warm about "Galileo" as well.

I thought Kou gave one of her most enjoyable and entertaining performances in years in that show.

But she was hitting the ball over the net, and into the black hole that was Fukuyama Masaharu.

"The Great Detective" (the character is a genre unto itself) has to be interesting. He/She has to be memorable, eccentric, odd. That's what makes those stories work.

The script writer can't just have the other characters say that Galileo is eccentric. Galileo has to be seen to be, in some way, eccentric

Fukuyama Masaharu was just... dull.

Sounds about right in my book, though the repetition of several of the key parts (ie random scribblings that would have absolutely NOTHING to do with the resolution!) almost dropped it to a 7 for me. Stupid reason maybe, but it is something that did bother me.

As for the ratings system...well, I'm hardly ever generous on my ratings, and you probably will never see a 10/10 from me, mostly because that would mean that I found absolutely no flaws whatsoever in the show itself. While I tend to sometimes surprise people with my ratings (I gave ProDai a 9/10), I tend to believe that the reviews I've given shows that I've set certain expectations on a bell curve.

One such example I can think of is the Nodame SP. Some people think it's was the best complement to the show, I personally thought there were certain key issues (if you want to know what I siad, go find it in the Nodame thread! hehe) that even the harshest of defenders saw my point (lookin at you Beem Bleah).

But hey, everyone's entitled to their opinion, I just like to keep a level playing field so that not every Johnny's show is blown off as garbage and every 'top-rated drama in Japan' is given 10s across the board!

Anyways, ON TOPIC: found a batch of Binbo Danshi at D-A, so I figured may I well give it a shot. I'll update after I watch the first episode tonight!

The Last Song episode 8

Very thought-provoking... The questions it raised, I will probably be thinking about them for a long while.

14 Sai no Haha - Epi 9, going on Epi 10.

I still think that the whole thing about getting pregnant is too idealistic. I don't know if the girl is way too mature or maybe she just like being a mom. >< I just can't accept it. It's a tear-jerker but I don't think it's worth to remember. Not under my top 10 list. Probably I am too realistic and pessimistic.

Yeah, that gimmick got to the point of being ridiculous as the show progressed... They should've dropped it by the halfway mark.

They just announced the sequel, Copernicus. In this new series the world will revolve around Shibasaki.
