Well, I'm not a fan of Eita's acting either. I've always thought of him as the visual-based actor
I've seen all of those series listed except "Loss Time Life", and frankly, he was pretty much same. Also seen him in Dororo, where he was even less convincing in armor. He does have his moments, but then again, so does everyone, including KimuTaku
He was VERY good in the movie "Ahiru to Kamo no Coin Locker" though, different role too.
I guess it can be disputed that KimuTaku has a bad acting skill, but he does have naturally born actor talents other than looks, one being charisma/power to inspire, the other the convincing tear scenes. I wouldn't think he would ever play a loser role given his status in the J-entertainment industry, but he did play a blind man in somewhat less glamorous position in "Bushi no Ichibun".
Personally, I'd give KimuTaku 6/10 in acting, but Eita 4/10. BTW, I'm not a girl and not into men
I think KimiTaku is a great actor as well, especially after seeing him on his show.
But I'd prolly still prefer watching Eita. I don't think all his roles required the same acting skills. He's got great range and he's fascinating to watch.
I'm a fan of both... but like I said, I'd prolly watch an Eita drama over a KimiTaku. _________________

He was very good in Bushi no Ichibun...he won the Japan Academy Award for Best Actor in that role but because of Johnny's lameness he didn't accept the award.

And for Karei-Naru Ichizoku, Kimura won Best Actor in Asian Drama Awards held in Seoul last year, beating participants from over 30 countries. _________________

Feel the same about Eita too. Basically every character he has played felt the same imo. Maybe he got the same problem as Kimutaku by making his characters seems generalize to his own style? Except Kimutaku did it with much extravagant and charisma while Eita is just too safe and meek. I personally think all the attention he's getting lately is kinda overrated unless he manage to break away from being typecast in good guy roles.
Wondering who are the other non-JE up and coming actors...
Kimura-san actually is quite versatile but non-SMAP fans stayed away from SMAP shows so people just don't see that part of him.
on topic.. Maou ratings as expected. I hope it'll rise again next week. Code Blue doing really good.
