To say "That was the first japanese drama I watched" I think it would be "sono drama tte hajimete mita nihon no dorama desu."
Hajimete is doing something for the first time ever. Saisho is just first, as in I got here first. So, "Sore ga saisho ni mita nihon no dorama datta." would translate to That was the first (in a sequence) drama I watched. Also I think datta would have to be desu. You know how in books people write in the past tense for the present, right? I think thats kind of how you can look at the sentence and translate it. I remember watching some video about some group. And one of the kids messed up and said "Sugokatta deshita" when he meant to say "Sugokatta desu."

Are you sure you only studied Japanese for less than 2 years? Great explanation! I guess I wasn't thinking and did a half-assed translation there.

I don't think the Japanese celebrate Halloween, they have Cosplay which is kind of year round Halloween "Holiday" can either be �j�� shukujitsu, or �x��yasumi.

For Merry Christmas, they say exactly tha��, "Merry Christmas" New Year is called ������ oshougatsu.

Well, the difference is that one's wrong and one's right.
���̉f�悪�D���i�ł��j�B is the only correct form of this sentence.

While it's true that �D�� comes from the verb �D��, it's not generally used as a true verb.

Exactly. Well, in recent years, Japanese people have begun to actually "celebrate" Halloween in that they have costume parties and some children go trick-or-treating, but it's still very much a foreign concept. Any greetings for these kinds of holidays that are uniquely western will generally be transcribed into katakana (i.e. �n�b�s�[�n���E�B���A�����[�N���X�}�X�Aetc.)

They do say "�����܂��Ă��߂łƂ��i�������܂��j" for "Happy New Year," though.
