Hi,
I've made a few posts, and I've realised I've haven't introduced myself yet. I'm male, in my 30s(another older man), and from the UK. I've been watching Japanese drama for about 7 months now. I've been into anime and more extreme Japanese cinema (Takashi Miike, Takeshi Kitano, Ryuhei Kitamura, Sion Sono, Tetsuya Nakashima) for some time, but until I followed a link for the live action Nodame Cantabile at animesuki I had no idea dorama existed. I thought I would try watching some and after looking at the recommendation threads both here and at d-addicts I decided on A Million Stars Falling From The Sky, Ashita no Kita Yoshio, Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi and Liar Game. All, in their own way, were brilliant, and I beacme addicted. A Million Stars in particular blew me away.
The 10-11 episode dorama format, and that the shows are generally written by one person means that in some cases they are the closest thing you can get to a novel on television.
I now watch at least one a day on average and have finished about 20 dramas. I was beginning to worry that I was running out of things to watch, so I joined jdorama, posted to the recommendations thread, and thanks to the many replies, my "to see" list now has grown to about 50 entries, which should keep me going for some time.
I'm been fortunate enough to visit Japan twice, paid for by my work, and loved every secong of it, I even got be be there during hanami season. I've just about to start Japanese classes, and hopefully I should be going back to Japan some time next year, again all paid for by my work. I know I'm extremely lucky.
I'll shut up now, as there is episode 6 of Kekkon Dekinai Otoko to watch.
My name's Raul. I'm from México and i'm 30 years. I've never been in Japan, so all this year i've benn saving money to accomplish my goal....
I love japanese music, j-dorama (i'm watching First Kiss kinda cool tv show n_n ) I can speak japanese 'cause i'd a japanese girlfriend, she introduced me to that wonderful world. i've changed the way i use to see Japan and Korea.
Thx to internet i reached this place, and i hope to find more of this world, meet interesting people.

Hello! I have lurked this site for two years and finally joined! xD
So heres my introduction which i'm horribul at.
Frist things frist my name is Taylor, i'm 17 years old from michigan. I'm 17 years old. I have been pretty much into japan since 6th grade. I started with anime, then jpop, then 80s-70s jpop and enka to eventually japanese doramas. Which I started out two years ago. My two favorite actresses would have to be Amami Yuki and Yonekura Ryoko. There is something about them. I mean when I look at them I see to very pretty and strong ladies. Which is really cool to see. and my frist two doramas were with them to Seikei no Bijin and Queens classroom. I know what a way to get into doramas. Ever since then I have watched many. FOR this year I'd have to say Daisuki!!, saito-san, Yottsu no uso, Around 40 are probley my favorites. I wanna say last friends is but idk that dorama was amazing but made me so mad and dissapointed at times! xD which im sure alot of people felt. For this upcoming fall i'm very excited about SCANDAL. xD I guess you guys can tell I love older people casting in dorama, which is true but I love all kinds of shows. xD and there im done. sorry for this long boring pathetic excuse as an introduction..Well then see ya around!

Hello!
Androo here, 26 from Los Angeles but currently living in northern Hyogo-ken (same prefecture as Kobe) in the Kansai area, teaching elementary school English, playing taiko, eating too much ramen, and enjoying Japanese TV. I'm new to the dorama scene, so I'm definitely thankful for a site like this with so many resources.
I watch most shows raw, mainly because they happen to be on TV and I randomly stumble across them. It tests my Japanese, and usually I'm stuck piecing plots together if it's dialogue heavy.
Look forward to learning a lot and hopefully helping out in some way. If you have questions about living in Japan, please ask! This is my 4th time living in Japan in some capacity, and it's been about a year total, in areas from Kanagawa to Tokyo to Kanazawa and now Hyogo.
