I finished watching Osen this week.

http://jdorama.com/drama.1276.htm

This is a good one. Aoi Yuu was marvelous. And I thought this was a terrific showcase for her.

I am puzzled though. The ending was a bit... abrupt. So I'm wondering... was it a ratings failure and they just decided to end it after 10 episodes? Or are they planning to do another season?

I'm hoping for another season. But you never know.

Watched up to episode 8 of Nyokei Kazoku. What a bunch of hateful characters! I hope Fumino gets even at the end. Still, I really like Fujiyo (Takashima Reiko) the best because although she seems evil to the core when trying to flaunt her status around, she also has a naive and vulnerable side, which I sympathize with.

Do real-life Japanese schoolboys (and workers, as far as that goes) really look like that? Crazy

Students and young people do - and even crazier than on TV Sweat and the street wear you'll see sometimes makes all things JE look conservative.
But I understand it, it's a break from all the uniforms (sailorfuku, black suit, housewife haircut, company pins) a Japanese person will have to wear during his/her life.

On topic - Kaze no Garden ... mmmh not sure if I like it TBC

The bitchfest that is Nyokei Kazoku ended. Sad That was quite a satisfying ending and that evil smile at the end was wonderful.

Am watching Zettai Kareshi too. I thought spring 08 was a bad season after watching a couple of episode of Last Friend and Puzzle and I gave Zettai Kareshi a miss as I thought it's just a drama for girls to drool over. I finally put up some time to watch it and find it enjoyable so far. Wasn't familiar with the female lead until I realised that it was Yayoi of Attention Please. She did quite well as Riko.

Celeb to Binbo Taro... Well, up till ep04, I am getting more and more disappointed with it. It got a good start but it is starting to suffer from a weak plot. Comedy that doesn't really tickles. Will still continue watching and hopefully it will pick up.

I don't think Last Friends was good.

Hey Beem, tell me again how Last Friends ended? Victory! Peace!

Horribly.

See the LF thread if you want to read about that train wreck.
