So she's smart? Big deal. She has no acting talent and she doesn't look all that good anyway. And besides, I like chicks who are as dumb as a stick anyway. Easier to manipulate! Mwahahahahahahaha. hehe

Yonekura is considered Rei's senpai. With 3/4 more years in the ent biz.... obviously she has had more time to demonstrate her 'diversity". It's like trying to compare Nanako and Yonekura... unfair comparsion don't you think?

Personally i prefer Ryoko chan cos she's more bubbly.

FYI, Rei has just been casted in the "major" movie Gozilla opposite Mabo. Next thing you know.... you'll have Rei fans swarming the forums indicating that Rei has a movie to her credit and Ryoko chan has none Wink

not exactly. I do believe Matsushima's maturity at Yonekura's "NOW" stage of her career has been more impressive "acting wise".

I love both of these actresses, so nothing but praise for them. hehe

I like both Yonekura and Matsushima in a different way though since Matsushima Nanako's beauty is more graceful and feminine while Yonekura Ryoko's beauty is more sporty and sexy IMO.

Hmm. I'd go along with that. Nanako-chan's beauty is more traditional Japanese, whereas Ryoko-chan's beauty is more modern, Westernized, and sexy. Yes! Big Grin

I totally agree. I think this reflects in their acting styles whether emotional or otherwise.

I can TOTALLY see Yonekura blending in with Hollywood, while I could, more easily, see Matsushima tearing up films in Cannes.

Oh man. If only that would happen. Of course, she'd get stereotyped just like most Asians in Hollywood. Sad

But wouldn't it be cool if someone came along to break down those stereotypes ... like the director Richard Rodriguez (El Mariachi, Desperado, Spy Kids,...) has done for Latin actors. Yonekura-san could be as popular a crossover artist as Salma Hayek! Smile

Yeah, I think that's what Hollywood needs. Rather than casting Chinese for a Japanese role, I think they ought to give us the respect we deserve.

Now if we can just get a crossover director to break the ice...........

Takizawa Hideaki (22), formerly of pop group V6 and now one half of the duo Takki and Tsubasa, has been chosen to play the lead in next year's NHK taiga drama, "Yoshitsune". It tells the story of the warlord Minamotono Yoshitsune (1159-89), a major figure at the end of the Heian Period. A total of 34 veteran actors and newcomers have been named in the cast. Among the popular female stars making their taiga debuts will be Ueto Aya and and former Morning Musume Goto Maki (both 18). Others include Koizumi Kotaro, son of the current prime minister, comedian Nanbara Kiyotaka of Un-chan Nan-chan, and veteran Tanba Tetsuro. • Former model Miwa, the wife of popular rapper Zeebra (33), recently gave birth to their second daughter. They have named the girl Rima, which is used in Spanish rap music to mean "rhyming".
