Even though I like comedy the synopsis of Trick didn't catch my attention. I'm surprised that although the first season didn't get high ratings, they still made a followup season. And it paid off rating wise. I know you can't get judge a show based on its ratings but they are important to the tv stations. So whoever convinced TV Asahi to make the subsequent season, should have gotten a pay raise. Mr Green

And there were three seasons... AND a movie.

Believe me, it warranted its sequels as opposed to Gokusen.

I hear you, Gokusen was nice to watch, even though I don't really like Matsumoto Jun. But there was no need to watch the same exact thing over and over for three seasons. Well I didn't bother watching the third season, but I'll assume it was the same thing as the first two.

Which would make for an interesting show if they could pull it off, hehe. Tamaki Hiroshi would be perfect for the role!

Is Trick really silly and overacted... or just a little? The reason I ask is because I'm not a big fan of super super silly and overacted dramas.

Also almost finish watching Anego and I really like it. Any other you would recommend like this one?

Thanks!

Sapuri, although I haven't watched it, seems to be about the same sort of thing- OL falling for a younger guy.

Other office dramas-

Haken no Hinkaku- Shinohara Ryoko in a role the total opposite of Anego
OL Nippon- currently airing, only two eps subbed.
Hataraki Man- Not completely subbed either but close.
Last Christmas- Christmas- themed love story but has a lot at work.

Where did you get that impression from?

It has some kooky moments, but it's not stupid... I think the Jiko Keisatsu and Kuitan series are kookier... But I really enjoyed those series as well. Smile

+1 on Last Christmas, it's one of my all-time favorites that's actually become an annual tradition for me this time of year! I'm on my 3rd year doing this with the show, never gets old to me.

Not sure... I guess I just thought it would be silly. Glad to hear it's not.

I've seen the Kuitan series, but what is Jiko Keisatsu about?

Thanks.

Thanks for the recommendations. I've seen Haken no Hinkaku but liked Anego more but Haken was funnier.

The other three you mentioned, I can only get Last Christmas as the place I buy them from (with english subs) won't have the current ones yet.

Heard of Last Christmas and I will get it for this time of thr year.... very appropriate!

Thanks again!

It's about a police officer whose hobby is to solve cold cases which have gone past their statute of limitation... Sort of a Columbo/Banacek/Cold Case show with odd, kooky characters... And a lot of laughs. Victory! Peace!

I highly recommend Suika....a quirky but very endearing show, with an excellent cast...

My personal favorite romantic comedies are Anego and Hotaru no Hikari Victory! Peace! The stories are very different from each other but both are hilarious and are related to working in an office.
