I love the roller coaster aspect of watching Japanese Drama.
For the last couple of weeks (months?) just about everything I"ve seen has either been run of the mill or just plain bad.
But I've just started two that will probably restore my faith in drama.
The first is Ikebukuro West Gate Park

It's a Tsutsumi Yukihiko show, so I expected to enjoy it. And two episodes in it hasn't disappointed. Good cast, and since I"ve enjoyed so many of Tsutsumi's shows, just seeing his style flood the screen again made me happy.
The other was a complete surprise.
Yume no California

I got this one simply because it stars Kou Shibasaki and Ryoko Kuninaka. (IMO) two of the most beautiful women ever to step in front of a camera.
More often than not it's a waste of time to pick a show just because I think the lead actress is pretty.
But this one doesn't appear to be a light weight. Again, I'm just two episodes in, but I find myself really wanting to watch another episode now, and it's been hard to turn the DVD player off at the end of the first two installments.
Thank you Wynter. _________________ Manga is to Literature

I did hang in there and I finished the series last night. It wasn't a matter of not finishing it at all, it was just sad how things turned out because of certain situations.
So did I enjoy it? Must be... 9.5/10, so I'll give it a boost to 10/10 just for the hot cast. _________________

I watched it too. It was nice, not too sweet.
And also watching Bijo ka Yajuu. I watched a few episodes of this years ago, it is even more entertaining than I remembered.
